About Pyramid Plunder

Pyramid Plunder is a 5 reel, 25 payline slot from Slotland. It contains all the usual Egyptian artifacts combined with stunning 3D animations and three unique twists on modern day slot features. You can win free spins, open multiple bonus rounds, benefit from a moving wild symbol, win a $4000 jackpot and play for a progressive jackpot too.

Pyramid Plunder Slot Theme

The Pyramid Plunder slot is not designed in an orthodox way and appears to be set in the distance rather than in the foreground of the screen. The reels look like a temple with a golden sphinx on the righthand side and tablets along the bottom containing buttons. A silhouette of a pyramid is located on the left, this has a part to play in the slots themed feature.

At first glance the reel icons appear to be charcoal drawings, or etched onto tablets of stone. It’s not until a winning combination is formed that you realize colorful, animated icons are simply hidden under a carpet of sand which is blown off in an awesome display of animation.

The reel icons include Cleopatra, scrolls, sarcophagus, scrolls, mummies, scarab beetles, camels, Egyptian Ankh’s and dogs. Authentic music, reminiscent of the recent Mummy films, plays continuously with a catchy beat which adds to the gameplay.

Pyramid plunder can be played as a penny slot, with various betting options available up to $/£/€100 per spin. Bets are controlled by choosing from a number of coin values and/or by altering the number of lines played per spin.

Other options such as sound, auto spins, paytable and help menus can be accessed using the tabs in the top righthand corner.

Pyramid Plunder Features

The Golden Scarab is a moving wild symbol, when it appears it will move from it’s own icon and take the place of another icon on the reels to create a winning combination. This is a unique twist on the standard wild symbol, it takes some getting used to but works really well.

The Golden Mummy symbol can unlock more winning opportunities. When the symbol appears it waits until all winning amounts have been shown, then, switches the reel to another position which fills the space with new reel icons. These new icons often create more winning combinations, but it’s not guaranteed.

The pyramid silhouette on the left contains four different blocks, filled by the respective icon appearing on the reels. Once all four are collected the ‘tomb’ bonus round starts, and you are asked to pick 3 tiles (from 9). Depending on your choice you will receive either free spins, bonus cash, another free pick or a map symbol.

The free spins play at the end of the bonus round and the map will reveal a route to another period if you unlock the feature again. The beauty of this is that every pyramid offers a bigger bonus, with Nefertiti’s and Rameses Pyramid paying the most.

At first glance, Pyramid Plunder looks plain but as soon as you hit the spin button you realize that isn’t the case. It really does have a lot to offer.

Five stars for this one. Wow, I"m just playing for fun, but from my perspective Slotland got almost everything right with this one! I've been playing for a long, long time today and keep managing to add to my bankroll. Once, early in play, I was betting to the maximum for fun (100 credits) and got within a few thousand credits of being out of money. Unlike Rival slots that don't let you keep playing for fun without a lot of work to get off the site, then back to reload or even other slots that have only a small bankroll, Slotland has a pop-up that asks you if you'd like to keep playing for fun or for cash. I selected cash and it instantly loaded 10,000 more fun credits on my bankroll!

Positives: The music fits the theme and adds energy to the game. The payouts are decent and very good for bonuses. I like the process of building the pyramid to get to the bonus that involves moving through a treasure map. I got through all of them and that was fun--and also kept me playing.

Some icons pay almost nothing (1/10 of the wager) but others, like the Pharaoh, can pay up to 20 times the wager. It would have been fun to have more five of a kind wins, even on the small icons. I thought the magical mummy didn't add much, but occasionally it caused me to win a good amount. Same for the scarab.

My only quibble--a very small one--is that I don't see why the balance and wins can't just stay visible throughout play. During a spin they go away. It would be convenient if they were easy to read and there all the time.

Overall, if I could play with real money, I'd play this one. As it is, I'll come back to build more pyramids! (I want to give it five stars but seem to be having problems with that..)

I will admit that I tend to be slightly more generous when it comes to Slotland games than those from some other manufacturers - the fact they make their entire casino suite in-house for me would indicate that its likely they cannot afford to spend as much time on the presentation as say, NetEnt, and I'm willing to accept that if the games have a decent paytable and features.

In the case of Pyramid Plunder, the game could certainly use a boost on the contrast - it's very one-shaded, although strangely you do get a bit of colour on the screen when the winlines are being highlighted! And then the important part - the paytable is really quite generous, and I like the fact all wins are displayed in x bet within the game, making it very fast to see the information your looking for. It's not Slotlands finest effort, but I'd definitely give it a few spins!
