Booster is a 3 reel (progressive), 1-payline, Slotland Classic Slot. It comes with a wildSymbol, multiplier and has a maximum jackpot win of $150.
Booster has been designed to look like an engine complete with spinning widgets, exhaust and gauges. It’s rather retro in appearance, but in a steampunk mashed with modern (it’s hard to pin down) way.
There’s a mishmash of icons on the reels too. These include lemons, balloons, casino chips, grapes, jerky, skeleton keys, dollar signs and BOOST icons.
We’re not sure on the soundtrack but have to admit it is unique for a slot game. All in all it’s very different from any other three reel game, which is great as we love originality.
Bets aren’t setup on the machine itself and a control panel is bolted on below. This allows you to easily select your desired bet whilst gameplay can be started with a button or by pulling the slots ‘handle’. We can’t tell you how long we’ve waited for a developer to allow this novelty (sadly the action is a little jerky).
BOOST appears in all capitals as one of the reel icons, so you know it means business. This icon is able to act as wild for any other icon whilst boosting the resulting win by 10 times. This creates more winning chances and ones which are markedly larger than regular prizes.
Booster also benefits from a ‘losing’ pot which is added to every time a wager is lost. You can cash this out at any time to receive 10% of your total losses back, or choose to risk these losses to claim back everything wagered (and lost) up to that point. This is a fairly unique feature and one seldom seen on a three reel game.
We don’t love it, nor hate it - it’s a meh moment really. That said we do think the additional Booster wilds are good and the theme is very different from other classic slots. What did you think of it? Let us know by leaving your review over on our casino forums.
