As the name suggests, Cosmic Quest II is the second cosmically themed slot from Rival Gaming. The 5 reel, 20 pay line format is the same as the first game but the reels and features have been given a whole new look. Cosmic Quest 2: Mystery planets starts in a similar way to the first slot, a short cut scene ‘transports’ you through time and space to a distant planet. The reels have been backed with a mysterious galaxy whilst all the icons have been given a space theme.

Each of the icons animates when a winning combination is shown, they include various planets, spaceships, robots, astronauts, bombs, communication units and landing craft. Rival has kept the original music and sound effects from the original game, in this case we think it’s for continuity rather than being lazy.

Everything is laid out in typical fashion with all the usual switchgear conveniently located at the bottom, the pay table is placed out of the way in both top corners making it easy to access. The slot is easy to set up and comes with a multitude of wagering options.

You can select a range of coin options from 0.01 to 0.25 in pounds, dollars and euros and play from 1 o 10 coins per line. Further tweaks to you bet level can be made by selecting from 1 to 20 lines per spin. This results in 0.01 as the lowest bet with a maximum of £/$/€50 per spin and various options besides.

The interactive bonus round is triggered by three or more astronaut symbols.
