X-Men Slot Theme

Despite being a hit comic and cartoon we'd say that the slot is themed more around the recent trilogy of films. The characters look like the actors who played them in the films, with particular likeness to Magneto (Ian Mckellen). This was the right choice to make, as more people will recognize the film rather than the comic books (although diehard fans will appreciate the effort put in with the costumes).

There's a decent range of characters on the reels, many of which animate when a winning payout is made. These characters include Professor Xavier, Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, Cyclops, Juggernaut, Mystique, Sabretooth, Nightcrawler, Lady Deathstrike and X-Men logos.

A rock and roll/techno sound track provides an added element of excitement. We also loved the sound effects for the character animations, especially Wolverines metal claws slicing together.

Betting Options and More Functions

Using the slot is very simple whilst maintaining a more than ample betting range of 0.01 to £/€/$250. Players can choose up to 25 lines, place ten coins per line and can obviously change the coin value between the above range.

The four Marvel progressive jackpots are triggered completely at random. You then see twenty hidden logos and click to reveal them until three identical ones are found (power, extra power, super power or ultimate power).

X-Men Slot Features

The wild symbol sticks out, loud and proud, with bright animated letters whenever the symbol substitutes for another. It also doubles up as a paying symbol with a 10,000 coin payout when five icons lineup on an active payline.

The X feature occurs when five hero (blue background) arrange themselves in an X configuration. Not only does this light up the reels and pay any winning combinations but also turns 5x the stake.

Three or more X-Men logos will trigger one of the most interesting free spins features around. This prompts unlimited hero free spins and eight villain free spins. You begin with hero spins (which spin backwards) with just heroes on the reels and Magneto who has become an extra Wild. If Magneto is used to create a win the reels turn red and spin forwards causing the 8 villain spins to countdown. A win using Professor X will revert you back to hero spins, with the resulting dueling mimicking their never ending struggle.

Our Take on X-Men

Fans of X-Men will love this slot as it's an official collaboration between Marvel and Playtech. The features are different from other slots, so there's no chance you'd have experienced anything like it before. We can't fault the prizes and progressive jackpots either - this is a very entertaining slot.
