Iron Man is one of my favourite Marvel characters, largely because he is so deeply flawed. He's just a man. He has no superpowers to speak of. All of his strength and speed comes from a suit that he wears, so really, all that's separating him from someone like you or I is just a couple of hundred billion dollars. Meh.

But it goes beyond that. His character is interesting. He is nihilistic and struggles to control his temper, yet is keenly self-aware. He's also an alcoholic. Yet on top of all of this, he strive to better himself. Tony Stark, the Iron Man, is a fascinating read.

Also he puts the smack-down on the villains. And the recent movie adaptation, while perhaps falling short in a couple of areas, was entirely bad ass. It was pure coolness from the moment the the lights dimmed until the credits rolled – and the Cryptologic game, although its not a tie-in, is no different.

Perhaps it's because of having such brilliant source material to draw from, but whatever the reason, the Iron Man game is ridiculously fun to play and will keep you engrossed for hours. Of particular note, although perhaps I shouldn't be surprised having played other Cryptologic games, is the animation. It's smooth, its flashy, and it's downright cool.

Purely from a technical perspective, then, Iron Man is a five reel video slot game. It supports up to 25 separate pay lines which players can activate using handy up and down control buttons located at the bottom of the screen.
