Forrest Gump is one of my favorite films of all time, when I discovered Paramount and Cryptologic had collaborated to create a 5 reel slot I could hardly contain my excitement. The result is a 25 pay line slot which includes two themed bonus games and the chance to win no less than five Hollywood progressive jackpots.

Forrest Gump Slot Theme

Unlike other Cryptologic movie slots, the Forrest Gump slot done’t use official images, instead they have opted for themed graphics. This doesn’t detract from the slot though as many of the characters and memorabilia from the film appears on the reels.

The icons include a box of chocolates, ping pong pads, peace symbols, a soldiers helmet, an american football, a bubba hat (no mention of Bubba Gump Shrimp), his house, Lieutenant Dan (down and out style), Jenny and Forrest sitting on a bench. Each one is animated and is placed in between a flowered border which contains other items from the film (keep an eye out for his running shoes).

The slot caters for every level of gambler, bets range from 0.01 to 20 per spin with a generous variety of options in between. You can even tweak the number of lines from 1 to 25, although for best results we like to leave these on max.

The crazy, yet cool, Hollywood progressive jackpots are awarded at random. The largest of which is the Blockbuster jackpot which is continually displayed in the top lefthand corner.

Forrest Gump Slot Features

Forrest is the wild symbol, he substitutes for all other symbols besides the scatters and bonus symbols. It can only appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels but doubles any win it helps create.

The box of chocolates round is started with three, four or five chocolate symbols. During this round you select from a 3x3 grid of chocolates, matching chocolates wins an instant bonus which is multiplied by the total bet.

Three or more American Football symbols on a payline starts the legendary Run Forrest Run feature, during this feature a prize is awarded for every 10 yards gained. You direct Forrest using your keypad and receive an additional bonus if a touchdown is achieved, will he lampoon the brass band at the end? You’ll have to wait and see ;-).

We really like the Forrest Gump slot, it has two interesting bonus rounds and offers the lucrative Hollywood Jackpots, which very much compliments the phrase ‘life is like a box of chocolates…’.
