Worlds at War is a 5 reel (non-progressive), 15-payline, Betonsoft Video Slot. It comes with a wildSymbol, scatter symbol, multiplier, free spin and has a maximum jackpot win of $12,500.
War of the Worlds by HG Wells was one of the first science fiction novels to question life beyond planet Earth. More importantly it depicted what might happen if alien beings invaded our planet. It has been made into plays, movies and is now loosely used as the subject of this five reel video slot from BetOnSoft.
Worlds at War reminds of Transformers with a hint of Tron mixed in. The background gives an indication of which worlds are doing battle as there’s a fiery planet on the left and earth on the right.
The reels show warriors from both sides. On the evil red side you’ll find characters such as Stinger, Hive Ship, Wasp, Crawler and Demonion from the planet Nubile whilst Earth is protected by Aileron, Trooper, Cyclone, Star Station and Commander Griffin. The final icon is the Galaxy Gate, a green portal which links the two worlds.
Players can either spin the reels on an individual basis or opt for automatic spins if they prefer. Either way the betting range is the same; players can wager anything from 1 single penny up to $18.75 per play.
Commander Griffin multiplies any win when his icon is used as a substitute for others. This symbol can substitute for all icons excluding the dominion and galaxy gate figures.
Free spins are triggered when three, four or five Demonion icons spin in. This will award five, seven or ten free spins when 3x, 4x or 5x icons trigger the feature.
Three or more Galaxy Gate icons will trigger the planetary defense bonus game. This loads a point of view battleship which is surrounded by enemy spaceships. You are given a number of shells to fire at your enemies with every direct hit awarding a bonus win. These are tallied in the bottom corner and added to your overall casino balance at the end of the round.
Based on the title you’d expect this to be just another outer space video slot, but it’s much more than that. We really liked the combination of Transformers type characters and bug like aliens; especially as there are three added bonus games which include the chance to defend the earth and win cash prizes in the process!
