Spacer is an outer space themed video slot which looks like a blend of Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars and E.T all in one package. It includes five reels, offers five paylines and prizes up to $5,000.
Once the slot loads you are greeted by a range of futuristic sound effects which accompany the flying saucers whizzing around behind the reels. At this point the slot feels rather fresh and exciting, a feat which 36 Gaming failed to achieve with their earlier slots - thankfully this new series of games are more detailed and unique.
The designers have worked hard on the reel icons too which include a range of intergalactic characters, items and references. You'll find aliens, robots, comets, spacecraft, alien planets, flying saucers and futuristic astronauts.
Players can select coins with 0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20 or 0.50 denominations. They can use up to twenty of these per spin which means overall bets ranging from 0.01 to £/€/$10 are possible.
A number of additional functions are available including the ability to mute sounds and play using automatic spins. Both come in very handy because the sounds can irritate and gameplay is repetitive due to there being no features whatsoever.
The variety on the reels isn't translated into features. The only way to win a prize is to get three identical icons consecutively with no help from wilds, free spins or bonus features. The overall experience is more Captain Scarlett rather than Star wars in this department, it feels very low budget and somewhat wooden!
Despite having an extraterrestrial appearance this slot is hardly out of this world. The graphics are good but the lack of features makes it a very boring experience to play. That said it is easy to play, so would be ideal for newbies or people who don't like feature rich slots.
