Hi to all my LCB family.

I am gonna be starting a blog about my sportsbetting ventures, my online experiences and of course my trips to my church (the racetrack). which most will be coming from there. I have been wagering on sports since i was 17 and online since 1996 and started goin to the racetrack at the age of 10 or 11. I still have these words stuck in my head that my father use to always tell me, " dont you tell your mother where we were, just tell her we were at the park", and ever since i could read a racing form i was hooked, and this is my motto..."A bad day at the track beats a good day at work anytime".

Its monday july 6th, i got the day off from work..soooooo what do i do? hmmmm.. im going to the track i say to myself, go to the store buy a few packs of smokes and the daily racing form and off i go...its a perfect day for the racetrack 75 and sunny, i get to the track find my favorite place to sit, at the bar of course, and start studying away..first race of the day i bet a small $10 exacta box, which is picking 2 horses to finish 1st and 2nd, whammm..my horses come in..it was the 2 favorites so it only paid me $70, and then it was alll downhill from there i couldnt pick a winner if there was only one horses running in the race, until and this is a true story, 3 races left for the day and i hear my phone ring, grab it from my pocket and see it is one of the most special person in my life right now, talk for a minute and then back to the races, and i dont know if it was a sign or not, but won the following 2 races, that being said by the end of the day i was down a few bucks, and still left with a smile on my face. no place on earth i would rather be then the racetrack. Thanks for reading.

Hiya Tonster,

I look so forward to hearing your race track stories. It is like old home week for me to read your stories! You bring me back to a lot of fond memories growing up.

Nice hit for u in the first race...gave u some extra cash to play with on the house. I love to play exactas. The only kind of bet i make besides the trifectas. What tracks do you have there in Ohio? Im sure at some point i have played at your hometown racetracks on simulcast.

Special someone in your life huh......she sounds like a keeper if she is bringing you luck! That explains the busy summer you are having...wink! You just might have to tell us all about it under romances...inquiring minds want to know baby!

I was in Las Vegas a few years back....we all know there are many, many other things in vegas that can distract us from concentrating on our betting.

I was wondering around the sportsbook at the luxor looking for a football game to bet..i look up at the betting board and see one i want to bet on, now in vegas when you want to bet on a certain team they have a number next to their team name..so i put it in my head..so ithink i do..start to wonder around some more.lalalala..lalalala..looking here , looking there, and i look at my watch and its 4 minutes b4 the game starts..i run to the window give the teller $660 and tell him the number..i am still not paying any attention..grab my ticket and put it in my pocket.

I now go look for a place to sit, at the bar of course and begin to watch my game..3 hours pass and the team i THOUGHT i bet on does not cover the spread..so i reach in my pocket to throw my ticket away, mind you this is the first time i look at the ticket..and i see the teller punched in the wrong number or i just told him the wrong one, but i need to go look at the final scores and the number he punched in..and WHAMOOOO..it was a winner.

I guess the moral of the story is that YES "anything can happen in vegas."

thanks for reading.

Last night was a combination of all my favorite things to do in life.

Started out by placing a wager on my hometown babeball teams the Cleveland Indians, then got the day goin.

Went and picked up my son to take him d-town to enjoy one of our favoriote things to do, hangout and then go enjoy americas pastime.

It was a perfect 79 degrees at gametime, so we do what everyone at the ballpark does..get a few hot dogs and a big ole bag of popcorn and start to watch the game, and of course i was not just watching and enjoying the game, but was also goin a little more crazy then most games, since i had a few bucks on it.

The game and night couldnt of finished any better as our hometown team beat The Seattle Mariners 4-1 in a very fun and exciting game, but i also pocketed $150. Who says life in unfair..if you like to gamble as much as i do try to make the best out it. Good luck to everyone wagering and enjoy everything life has to offer.

I got home last night and decided to play some horses at my favorite site..playersonly. I have a TV channel that i can watch the races from all around the world.

I should have known right off the bat that is was not gonna be a good night.

The first race i bet, i bet $20 to win and place on a horse and leaves out of the starting gate like a missile, a good 3 lengths in front... then the rest of the horses start to catch up to him..he still has about a 1 length lead..and crosses the finish line first...soooooooo...of course im a bit excited he was 6-1 and im already counting my $$$, should be getting around $200 for my $40 bet.

Thennnnnn, the thing that alll horse players dread happen. The judges "inquirey" light lights up on the board. What that means is that a jockey who was riding another horse in the race claimed a foul against the winner.

I am waiting for what seems like an hour for the judges to come back with there decision, and then it happened..i was looking at the numbers on the tote-board and the horse that i bet on his number disapeared from the board.

He got disqualified for interfering with another horse, so they had to take away his win and placed him LAST..so not ony did i not win 200, i lost my 40.

Do i stop betting because im ticked off? Of course not,  it is the gambling SIN to try and chase your loses because you just got a badbeat..but i was drinking a few adult bevs. and that kinda helped me along.

I bet about 9 or 10 more races and DID NOT win one of them. It was just one of those nights, we have ALL been through it as gamblers, but being the better that i am i woke up this morning dusted myself off and gonna be right back at it this afternoon.

Thanks for reading.

I was back at the horses yesterday and last night, and i think i figured out my new handicapping systm.

I started out by doin my normal reading the racing form and trying to pick out just a few horses i liked for the night.

Okay..now i am gonna start betting..but i was on the phone alot an really wasnt paying to much attention to the racing form..so i just bet a small $2 exacta box..and win right off the bat..nothing big just $67.

So i continue to just glance at the form..flapping my jaw on the phone, and then making a non-chalaunt bet.

Alright..im one of those who get real serious when the race is in progress, dont like to be bothered..but last night i kept getting bothered during the running of the races.

And i'll be damned..there was 3 straight races that i won while i was being interupted..so now im thinking.."who needs a racing form..i'll just pick a horse and have someone bother me during the race". Well like all streaks it finally came to and end..but then it started right back up again..2 more winnings in a row while being bothered.

The bottom line is i ended up winning $340 for the night..a big diff. from the night before.

The lesson i learned was, its good to change up your approach to betting after a bad loss..we are all superstitious as gamblers, and dont like to change our routine..but after a bad night at the tables, slots., or whatever we are playin..its good to switch up our routine..it sure as heck as worked for me..not just last night but many times in the past as well.

Thanks for reading and GL to everyone gambling today.

I deceided to play some horses for a little while yesterday but my mind was not all into it, im sure we have all gambled with your head not completely into it.

So i make a bet early in the day for a race that was still a few hours away..i bet $40 to win and place 9($80) total, which in horse racing is not always the best thing to do..alot can happen in a few hours with a horse..i suggest if you bet on horses to wait until they come out onto the track so you can take a look at em.

The race goes off and the horse i bet was nowhere to be found and dowm goes that 80 bucks...but i get plugging along..loser after loser..till i finally hit a winner late in the day..didnt come close to getting back what i lost on all the races earlier.

I think a good lesson is to make sure that we have to mindset to gamble..no matter what it is, slots, poker, sports or horses. Plus having a bad day could be karma coming back to get me..does anyone else out there believe in karma? I sure as heck do..and it can be a real bear.

Thanks for reading.

I was down in Fla. visiting my gramps not to long ago..winter time..well here it was winter not here...we were sittin in his backyard and deceided to do to the dogtrack.

So we jammed into the car and headed out.

He lives in Naples and we were goin to Bonita Springs..about a 50 min. drive, so were drinkin listenin to tunes..and half way there we see a sign for an indian casino..guess what we do?..yep..

Lets play some cards..So we pull into the casino parking lot..find a place to park..sunday so its pretty packed..my ole man gets out of the car and..i swear to you he finds 6..yes 6..purple chips on the ground..if you have been to most casinos purple chips are $500 EACH...

Were kinda worried if they might be fakes..but no harm in tryin to cash them in.

REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL CHIPS BABY... We tried to think of what to say if they were fakes..but cameras in the parkin lot would have seen that we picked then up.

So we split the $$ and go play some cards.

And it wasnt more then hour later we allllllll..and we werent playin at the same table either....we allllll went broke.

So this is what i thought of that night.

"Is money earned better then money found"

let me know your thoughts.

thanks for reading.

Hi Tony,

I always enjoy the money found more. There seems to be more of an exciting feel to it....like is it going to be my lucky charm....this is a sign of good luck today...etc.

I remember when i was fresh out of h.s. and just started a partime job. Of course there was the 2 week delay of getting a pay check. I did not have a penny to my name and i was at lunch. I remember thinking i was starved and  wish i had a few bucks to eat.

Instead i just take a stroll down the street and look in store fronts. Something catches my eye. Blowing in the breeze on the ground was a 5 dollar bill! My wishful thinking paid off. I was never so excited to find 5 bucks before.

Needless to say i ate lunch that day.....and it was the best lunch i ever had!! A nice find like that when least expected has to be the greatest treasure of all!

I havent been doing a whole lot of betting since i did my stupid drunkin move of deleting my account a few days ago.

But i did play a $100 wager on the Indianapolis Colts to win the superbowl.

It will be 6 months before i know if i won or not but i thought it was worth a shot...if they win, i will get back $1200..

Plus it gives me a little something extra to cheer for as i wager thousands during the regular season which is not to far off.
