Dear LCB Team, online communication like in our forum lives a lot on spontaneity. This may result in posts you would like to think over or even just spelling mistakes. Cīest la vie. I for myself hate it to find mistakes in my posts. As a copy witer it just makes my eyes bleeding. Whatever drove you to remove the MODIFY button, please, please, please forget it and bring it back! Thank you in advance, rokko

I see a "MODIFY" button - it hasn't been removed (but I am a mod and that may be why) however, has anyone else noticed the modify button is missing?

I removed the modify button for regular members, as it has been abused a lot. I am temporary giving this permission back, until we find a plugin that will allow modifying for restricted period of time. Cheers Zuga

The modify button can be abused by spammers and the like. We can remove their links and they then can go back in and post the links in the same post which means it would unlikely be looked at again by a mod...unless of course it was brought to the attention of moderators. That's one example and I'm not going to say any more for obvious reasons. blue

We could make fun of them! You set up a competition "spot the spammer" where you could win something for being the first to report it. And next time Captain Jack or Mr. DiAngelo post something we set up a flash mob on their CS. Hey, the first virtual flash mob - we would make history!

better solution is to ban spammers instead, then they cant modify their post, you could also remove the post completely, regardless of what our other members might have said in it? anyway i will start reporting links i see as spam more active!

Hey Dirk (or Dirke),
you are too fast!
A "Spot the spammer" button in addition to the "Modify" button will also do it. And we could have a game-like-feature on site - even with highscores: the fastest, the most and so on.
Letīs make some fun of it!

Hi guys, I can assure you that spammers are serious problem. We are well established and one of the top gambling portals, and thats why we get hit by spammers on daily basis. We are taking every means necessary to prevent those attacks, and very few of them manage to hit the forums. And when they do we are fast to deal with them, as you can already tell. They all get banned, their posts either deleted or modified, but some of them still manage to slip thru cracks. There is no 100% prevention against such low life individuals, but we do what ever we need to in order to protect our members and LCB. Ofc our members are helping us a lot by reporting such spam posts, and we are very thankful for that. cheers Zuga

Hi Dirk, As Zuga says - they are banned but sometimes it takes a little longer to get them banned and hence they would have the opportunity to change their post back with their orignal spammy link. Admin have to sleep sometimes! blue

I HATE spam. I worked as an Online Computer Tech for a while, and offered a few sites to chase down Corporations or websites that did alot of spamming. I told them that I would let "the spammers" know that their site was by no means to be held responsible for what I said, but it needs to be stopped. !
