Hi Members,

When i go to the casino all i play is Video Poker. I rarely play slots. I have my favorite machine and i will sit on that machine the whole time i am there. I play nickel slots so i can play for a long time on $20.00....giving me 80 hands to play.

I figure i play sooooo many hands that surely i will hit the royal at some point. A lot of times it works! At best i break even...and yes i still have those  moments i lose.

What i think is crazy is that a straight flush on a poker machine pays the same as a four of a kind. I don't really understand the reasoning behind that. A straight flush is the second hardest hand to hit behind the Royal Flush.

Does anyone else play video poker and have you any ideas as to why this is?

If i play any type of machine it is Video poker, just because you get to deceide what to hold and what not to as a slot machine is gonna do whatever it is programed to do, as far as the payouts, i have seen that the pay-table differs from machine to machine even machines that are exactly the same type and in the same row, so i look at the pay-table b-4 i sit and play to find the one that gives me a little better advantage.
