Just started playing NL Texas Hold em with some friends and I'm woefully uneducated. I've picked up a few books to get some basics under my belt, but now I need hands and hands to practice up so I can take them to the cleaners next time I have a type of job I can play hands during the day but will encounter alot of interruptions, so live games with real people aren't good for me. I'm looking for some good software, either downloadable or browser based that I can play hands against computer opponents. Preferably, if the software also instructs is a big bonus. I've found a few browser based Hold em apps, but they weren't so great. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I think the best advice you can have is to play as many "play money" games as you can, play as many freerolls as you can and then when you think you have some confidence and start to win in the play money, give it a go on the real money. Let us know how you get on anyway - whichever route you take. If you need any help, just let me know no matter what it is. Always happy to help. blue

Hi Kingme,
I know i started out playing with play money before i ever started to play with real cash. Most poker sites i think have "play money games". To my surprise players take that just as serious as real money players.
I wish you luck and happy poker days!!!

To my surprise players take that just as serious as real money players. Oh really? I would think people would be super aggressive with play money, but it's interesting they take it seriously. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the tip(s).
