: Embarrassed Hi my name is Rena and im an addict  Laugh out Loud.
Before my husband passed away all i did was go to yard sales for hours dragging him along. He was a very unwilling victim voicing his opinion of the junk i was buying quite verabally which i never listened to of course. When he was away he came home to loads of (what he called garbage)things in the house that could fill one room.I eventually slowed down and had a big yard sale of my own ,selling off the things i had bought for a little more then what i payed for it.We made a killing thanks to my junk collection. Now i like to gamble luckily it doesnt compare to my yard sale days or i would be at it for hrs Laugh out Loud Cheesy Wink

We have what we call "boot markets" over here.  Same sort of thing as a yard sale but everyone gathers in a giant field somewhere in the country to sell off all their unwanted stuff.  You can get some fantastic bargains.

One woman bought a really ugly "hand made" owl for 50p (about 30c) and it was auctioned off at a top auction house for £10,000!

You just never know what you will find.  Keep it up Rena!

I'd liketo have a house and then I'd be hitting the yard/garage sales. Smiley

Rena... my mom dragged me around dumpster diving and yard sale shopping.. the things we found.. oh my goodness, BUT all that we found and bought she saved up for the summer time swapmeet, which she would rent a space.. i had the time of my life doing this, the money we made went towards all our vacations like disneyland, magic mountain, las vegas lol and now i have yard sales whenever i can, and my daughter won't let me have them without her she loves them too, be surprised what people pay for things..
