Some people find the sensation of unprotected sex 'feels better' and others find it more intimate, a way of expressing trust and closeness. Some say simply 'with my partner, why not?' In today's world of sexually transmitted diseases, divorce rates (ie, more partners, infidelities) should partners ever consider having unprotected sex at all?
My partner and I have been in a monogamous exclusive relationship for 3 months, and have been tested together. Do partners take that leap of faith and live in trust or should one always put themselves first and always demand protected sex in perpetuity

Well, I'd say when 2 people are ready to have kids.
Gay couple have been tested and they're clean.
But what with the available stuff out there (Spermicidal jellies and other contraceptives, pills and such) then while they are NOT 100% protection, but the odds aren't bad.
My opinion only..

If you are in a trusting and honest relationship were both partners have been tested and are clean then there is nothing wrong with unprotected sex at all.
On the other hand there are many many people who never have protected sex having that "it can't happen to me" attitude makes it a little more of a difficult.

Hi 13,
I think that unprotected sex is not a good idea. It is not worth the risk of disease or unwanted pregnancy.
Of course not wearing protection is much more pleasurable and is often the excuse for not using it. Unless you know your partner well and know where they have been, i think its the only option.
Ask any person who has contracted a STD.......the answer is always the same....i was dumb. The same for pregnancy.....there is too many unwanted pregnancies. I find terrible that in some circumstances women use abortions as a means of protection.
Know your partner.....then enjoy maximum pleasure!!

it'sthe scary part, that while you may believe you have an open and honest and trusting relationship, the reality is that sometimes partners cheat ;(

I've tried unprotected sex...the feeling and pleasure are incomparable! But I don't practice it just because I'm not ready to have children! As for diseases...there isn't any contraception that can give 100% protection! Besides, I agree with 13oclock that even if you love and trust each other you can't be sure..."sometimes partners cheat"...It's our reality! a sad one but reality...

Notice, you can tell I am over 40 because I said "rubber." Ahhhhhhh! I remember the good old days when a box of Trojan Rubbers had the picture of a warrior Roman's helmet! Now, a box of Trojans has that silly, lovey-dovey couple on it.......**sigh**

I would say when you both are under the ages of 18, maybe a first date, or someone you didn't relay care for too much. There's alot to be said about unprotected sex , alot. Thank you :
