What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

I take the kids to Thanksgiving Eve worship services on Wednesday night.  Our church joins with two others for a combined service.

On Thanksgiving Day we watch the Macy's Day parade and then go to a shelter to assit in providing Thankgiving lunch for the homeless.  Last year we helped feed over 400...so I am curious how many we'll have this year.

Then our nanny, who is Columbian, will fix us a Central American themed super for that evening.....just to be different.  And she is a great cook!

You?

[Sadly] We don't celebrate it over here so I hope everyone who does celebrate it, has a wonderful time.

Sounds like you do your bit for the community.  I hope it goes well.

Every year i get a turkey as big as Texas! I plan on enjoying the day with family and friends.

I will make lots of pies and the stuffing! After we have dinner we all sit down and play poker! We have sort of started a tradition with this. We put on the Lite radio station that is all Christmas songs and at the start of playing we choose a song we think will come on. if your song comes on you automatically win the pot! We have had a blast doing this.

I am so ready to eat that turkey dinner, cranberries, candied yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie...Woo yum!!! I am so gonna be a fat lady singing after all that food.

I really believe that Thanksgiving is a must celebrated...

Not only it is a time to gather with family and friends to give thanks for the many blessings but to thank and remember the farmers who have worked all through the year and that's where your food really comes from especially when you have little children... Wink
