Hi All, I flew out to Reno on Dec. 21 to see my mom. Sadly, I received a call at 4:30am on Christmas morning that my mom had just died.  I had to wake up my dad on Christmas morning to tell him the love of his life died. I'm the basketcase in the family but my dad is so overwhelmed with grief that I have to put my own on hold. We went to the funeral home yesterday and I made all the decisions except for the urn because my dad just couldn't. I wrote the obit, ordered flowers, made picture boards, etc. etc. My family is flying in tomorrow and I will fall apart then, I'm sure. If you guys wouldn't mind sending a quick thought or prayer for Claudia, it would mean more than you know. Thank you for the PM's. I haven't read them....will reply when I get home. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and please... spend time with your loved ones and if there are any grudges, set them aside. Life is too short. |

My prayers are with you and your familiy. Its hard to overcome the loss of a loved one. Which is why everyone should take time everyday to show those ones you love that they are loved. Life should not be taken for granted cause anything can happen on any given day. Have a Blessed New Year.

(((Gabby)))...I am SOOOO very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing...my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this extremely difficult time. I lost my husband of 23 years almost 8 years ago and still remember those hours...days...after his death. It was a horrible time for my family & I so I know exactly what you will be experiencing in the days and weeks to come. Sending warm hugs your way sweetie...and for your Dad. |

Ahh gabby i know words are simply not enough when we lose someone so dear in our lives. Your strength for your dad's sake is a true testimonial of love. It can seem all that much harder at Christmas time with sentimental memories of family.

I am now home but have not broken down yet. I must be in denial because this is what I have dreaded my entire life.
My daughter gave me a card and her words could not be more true:
