I'm really stunned by your last reply and reaction Tim. First of the language used is not appreciate what so ever!

So what if you were "called out" by liquorman's response? You posted on public forum, and not all will agree with you or understand you for that matter. So instead of indulging a civil debate you have chosen to use foul language.

And let me remind you that you have opened a can of worms yourself and I quote :

I.. have to say , just this that i apologize for my latest ramblings. Sincerely apologize. I do try to post topic that interest a larger group of us here at LCB. But all I have to say in my defense is that i seemingly have temporarily lost myself with the passing of my dear feline companion . Just last night i wept horribly to my loss of her.  And I do wish you all well in your lives, even a red line socialist sort of person that i am .. i do have a conscious and a heart ., guys gals please forgive my demeanor lately.

drtheolen, you can in no way blame yourself that Tim's grief over his lost cat overtook him and sent him into a rambling spin.

I too am glad to see this apparently resolved, as the discord does none of us any good. It is not our purpose here.

Tim, I am sorry for your loss and appreciate your owning up and apologizing for your recent behavior. I don't think anyone will hold a grudge, we all have our moments.

Im glad to see this little misunderstanding is part of the past, to be honest i somehow felt responsible at least in some part. I find it strange whenever i enter in any deeper debate or conversation lately, some kind of chaos appears

Anyhow, im glad positive thinking people like lips exist, to brighten up our criticism filled minds and make us cheer up a bit.

Thank you very much for your kind words. But please never feel like you can't join in a debate. You did nothing wrong. I have always been a strong advocate of debates and we use to have quite a few of them in the past. I always say its ok to agree to disagree. That's what makes for some good stimulating conversations. I think you personally got where i was going with my post in this thread and i appreciate your open mind. Your posts at LCB are always incredible and you give us food for thought.

Maybe the written word at times is misconstrued because i sensed you were feeling down and out and i was trying to lift your spirits a bit by saying just hang in there, we all feel that way at times. And after your apology post i guess my sense was right.

Sometimes we don't know whats happening on the other side of this white box as we write our comments. Loss, heartache and tough times can put us in a different frame of mind at times.

But like i have always said, that's the real beauty of LCB because at the end of the day we are where we all need to be........one strong community.

Man so true gunny, I find my rhetor and structure completely chaotic trying to express myself in English my native born language. Well American English to be more precise. And at that grass roots slang. ALthough I have always excelled academically .. most of what i learn is from personal aspiration to better the situation in every hue in my environment. I teach myself most things. Drtheolen and others abroad outside the original English speaking regions of the globe, thankfully bring a much more observing and at more times correct use of English.

Yes both drtheolen and myself are from Serbia. We are actually an old mates, our friendship goes way back to first day of elementary school.

Gunny, it is funny you thought Im from OZland, as I did spend a lot of time with Aussies and really picked up on their slang and expressions. Granted that I also picked up a lot of American slang thanks to Lips.

I would say learning the 2nd language, in this case English, is always steady and ongoing process. I personally learn something new every day and Im never satisfied with my own knowledge of english and always strive toward perfection.

naturally my line of work allowed me to significantly improve my english skills, and sometimes days can pass that I dont say a word of serbian. And at times i even find it easier to say something in english rather than in my native tongue ( which is quite concerning when I come to think of it ).

I still remember the days when i used to think about what Im gonna say or write, first in serbian, only later to word it in english. But practice, repetition, reproduction of wording and expressions and real time conversation really helped me get comfortable and fluent in english.

With all this said, we do have english as a mandatory class in our elementary and high schools. And with ever present movies and music and world wide web it is really hard not to know at least some english expressions.
