Hiya Members, June 21st kicked off the first day of summer! After a brutal winter in Chicago, it could not have gotten here fast enough. With summer comes: BBQ, going to Lake Michigan and soakin up the sun, picnics, summer cocktails, Arlington Park Race Track, volley ball, badminton, The Cubs, The Taste of Chicago, Carnivals, Great America, Dairy Queen, homemade lemonade, sailing, fishing, outside cafes and roof top clubs and just swinging on the front porch!!!!!!!! One thing that seasons will never change is THE CASINO. Winter, spring summer and fall!!!! What do you look forward to in summer? Lips

I love Summer. My winters here in Michigan, Like Chicago, are brutal. We really only get a few months out of the year where the weather is warm so most of us take full advantage of it. Cookouts become the only way to make dinner. Bon fires are a weekend ritual complete with smores, and occasionally sleeping under the stars. I also enjoy road trips in the summer. Driving in the winter can be a scary event, just to even get to work is a challenge, but summertime brings sun and fun on the road. The radio blasting your favorite music, and all the windows rolled down. Wind in your hair and nothing but road ahead of you. I enjoy all the trees and their leaves in full bllom, flowers, gardens, and even mowing my lawn, although it gets old , is a joy to do when you think of the alternative which is shoveling snow. I enjoy fishing in the summer, camping, and even a little yard work is good. I have lived in Michigan all my life, and it will likely not change. I like all the different seasons. Yet, without a doubt, summer is my favorite.

I live in Va. where we really get the worst of every season....winters are really cold, icy, and snowy, summers are really hot, fall is pretty much cold with an absurd amount of leaves everywhere, and in the spring it rains like there's no tomorrow!! But this summer i'm looking forward to busch gardens, kings dominion [already got our season passes to both] and Va. beach...all of which are within a 30-60 min. drive from my house. Oh yeah and i'm also going on a road trip to Savannah Ga. I leave tonight actually, so hopefully i'll get in some good salt water fishing trips while i'm down there!!
