He would grow to become the most iconic personality in Pop-American culture.

With 18 "Number 1" and 37 "Top Ten" hits, Elvis spent more weeks at the top of the charts than any other artist. Elvis is truly still "The King".

The story about him giving away cadillacs was true as well, an older relative of my daughters father was a recipient of one.She was standing on a bus stop in Memphis Tennessee she had just arrived and had with her a rolling grocery basket loaded with groceries, she had 2 of her children which were small one walking and one on her hip. Make it short he pulled over, walked up to her and handed her the keys said she is the new owner of a cadillac, the story goes as this happened she turned white as a ghost (as she is a black woman lol) she drove him home, she got his autograph and a picture with her, him and the car. I wouldn't doubt the story, but still you think yeah riiiight, but i seen the pictures and have always thought how amazing is that, and what a beautiful man to have done that...
