Well, ours was a while ago (Canadian here). I'm a vegeatarian and I'm still stuffed on the sides alone. The only big difference between ours and yours is you get all those awesome sales the following day...we only have Boxing Day

Eat, eat, drink..watch football, eat, drink , drink, eat and passout on the couch. A thanksgiving day tradition for me. Tony

I take the kids to work at a shelter or food pantry in the morning. Then we have a thankgiving meal together. And the football is good too.

Hi Poker,
It is tradition that every Thanksgiving holiday football is on!!! As some are busy in the kitchen cooking.......others are yelling from the other room.......TOUCH DOWN!!!!!
If it's not their team...........well sometimes there is a whole lot of swearing going on!!!!

Well, used to be pretty nice, turkey and family and their offspring. Now I may hit siblings place, have dinner, take some home and then watch football...BIL is a Packers Fan and I root for the Boys...Makes Thanksgiving nice when they win.

Up until 5 years ago, I loved this time of year, especially Thanksgiving. I lost my husband of 23 years to a motorcycle accident in 2004 so holidays are not as special to me as they once were. Our tradition was to spend Thanksgiving with his side of the family, which was always a wonderful day...lots of delicious food, some drink and of course, the football. We too would often play cards or board games later in the day/evening. I have since remarried but things are and never will be the same, still do my best to enjoy the life I still have (especially my grandkids) and try to start new traditions with new friends/family. Still...just kind of a sad time for me.

Hi hymacaw,
The holiday season can be a very sad time of year. Especially when losing some so dear to your heart. I know by your words you really loved him. I hope you can embrace the memories and found peace in your heart.
Just simply talking about it helps to soothe the soul. I'm sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts through the season.
Thanks for sharing something so sacred. It moves me deeply when members like yourself open up to us......your LCB family.

I don't talk much about how I feel since losing my husband which is probably why I don't cope well around the holidays. I stayed strong for our daughter and his mother, who still grieves deeply for the loss of her son. I still think about him every single day and probably will til the day I die. Thank you for being so kind and putting questions out for discussion that often prompt us to open up & share. Wishing you and ALL the LCB members a very happy holiday season.
