I was reading about the 12 girls in the Junior High School surrcombing to a type of Tourettes syndrome, one explained she just took a power nap woke up and starting stuttering and since then has gotten worse. The doctors couldn't find answers so they diagnoised it as.. "stress related". Something physcological happened to these girls and it then turned physical. Stress related is used as something stumped doctors say it is in not finding an answer or a cure. Their parents are like WTF... stress related.. you can do better than THAT, i absolutely don't blame them one bit. We all know that this is much more then mental stress.
A cure or relief from stress is worse then having stress in the first place. For instance, go for a walk to relieve some, suddenly you are faced with a robber, a kidnapper, maybe a crazy taxi driver that thinks the sidewalk is an expressway. Okay forget that, try going for a swim, you hop in, the water is freezing cold, finally as you move around a bit the water becomes a nice temp, as you are enjoying and feeling somewhat relaxed a "babyruth" candy bar floats by, only to find out another person is there to relieve some stress too and pooped in the pool, now you're worried you are gonna catch some kind of pool poop disease. Okay forget that, how about fishing, you're all set in your boat with your line and rig, your boat is slowly rocking and drifting relaxing you, then you begin to choke on the fumed pollution, and are swatting and smacking mosquitos and lake flies, now you're worried you're gonna get malaria. Okay forget the great outdoors, you decide to take in a movie while lying in bed, meantime take these pills the doctor prescribed to help relax you, pop one in your mouth and worry you don't run out, not realizing you're addicted, you go in the kitchen make you some hot cocoa and toast and as you are walking into the bedroom, you trip over the cat, cocoa and toast go flying, you fall and gash open your forehead on the corner of the dresser. Call mom from the hospital, she's frantic and rambling on,and you're explaining you're okay but it's not because you are in the hospital it's because the morning newspaper hasn't arrived. It will be there Mom..
Stress related diagnoises.. the cure, forget about it, i'm doing better with stress.

Great reading Imagin. I wonder how true it all is...probably very true! Maybe stress isn't so bad after all but these 12 girls are probably just angry as hell rather than suffering from tourettes.

I can't imagine a stressed-out 12-year old, I just can't. My only concern at that age was how to gather more kids for our almost daily soccer games. I'm talking about real soccer, with a ball, not with a joystick or gamepad

Neurological issues are always the toughest to diagnose particularly when it relates to the brain. Doctors love to hide behind the ole "stress" conclusion when they are absolutely clueless.
Absolutely priceless writing imagin!
