  • Singer Prince died in his Paisley Park, Minnesota home. His body was discovered early Thursday morning.

On April 15th Prince was on his way to a concert when his private jet to made an emergency landing in Illinois.

Then he appeared at a concert the next day to assure his fans he was okay. Reports indicate he was battling the flu.

In 1982 his album 1999 shot him to super stardom. The singing legend sold more than 100 million records during his career  and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song Score for Purple Rain in 1985.

  • Rest in peace, too young went too soon  kiss

  • sad news RIP

  • So very sad. I am from the Twin Cities (Minnesota). Prince has been one of my favorite artists since the beginning of his career. I didn't know him personally, but it felt as though he was part of our community. I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his death. His talent was completely amazing. Only 57, so young.....

    RIP Prince
  • RIP

  • Very sad to hear this news yesterday and so young too.  RIP Prince

  • Very sad news, RIP

  • My sister told me yesterday , unbelievable . He will be missed  :'(.

  • RIP will be deeply missed

  • Rest in peace Prince...You were an amazing artist and your music has left it's mark on the world.

  • I Loved Prince's music and I loved the kind of man he was.
I agree he was way too young to leave us.
A Beethoven of our lifetime, your music is eternal............................

We need to find a way to keep all people safe from the perils of all drugs, even prescription drugs.
They are disguised as help, but they take too much from us, from the world.

    RIP

  • He lived about 20 min from me. My husband and I went to Paisley Park the Saturday after he died. Wanted to see all the purple...balloons, flowers, drawings, etc. happened to be when the family came out and thanked the mourners (visitors) and we were able to get a purple box of momentos they passed out as thanks prior to the private service.    My husband told our eldest daughter Prince was her real dad, just to see her reaction.  Hmmm, the consequences of what that means or possibly the sole heir to hundreds of millions. Gah, if I had only known when I was younger and hotter what could have panned out.

  • Prince would have impromptu concerts at his home (compound). Rules were no drinking, smoking or swearing but he did coke?!?  When he converted to Jehovah,he rode his bikes to homes, as required..Husband heard after a concert ending at 4am  or so, he would excuse band colleagues and friends and instructed all the gals to stay. ... he then proceeded to take out his Bible and read it to them

.  I'm in MN too, cool he stayed
  • While Prince was alive, I told quite a few friends that this is a musician that I consider a genius. I guess I came to this conclusion because his music sounds nothing like anybody else's music. I mean, the dude has recording studios in Minnesota. That would be like having a President from Minnesota, which just ain't gonna happen.

  • Sad story. When I first heard that song(1999), I thought it was sang in that real year. I didn't even know who the artist was, but it was a nice song. I remember in 1999 many people scared me the world was almost ending. So it gives me those memories of the fear I had.
