Hey LCBers,
Nothing much to say here but I am just wondering if I am the only one who is sick of seeing or hearing people hype 50 Shades of Grey movie. I mean WOW!! When it comes to sex, our society becomes like this.

Everyone teased me because I had no idea what the book was about. I really wouldn't have known the extent of what it was about had the whole Target stores issue happened with the "50 Shades" merchandise. (Fwiw.. I have kids and don't give a damn. Keep it down the condom aisle, and my kids know nothing ) but anyway.. I'm not into those types of movies.. Meaning romance. I'd rather make my own. Kidding. But to each his own.. Anyway..is bondage (again only going by the whole Target expose) romance? Am I totally in left field here not knowing wtf I'm talking about? Lol I'll shut up now.

I'm not sick as much as all of you guys, but that's probably because the book and the movie aren't really that popular here. Though I have to say that I don't watch TV or listen to radio, so I could be wrong. I haven't read the book and I'm not going to watch the movie. But I think that the soundtrack isn't that bad.

Yeah, to be honest this is a strand in society that i'm sick of altogether.
I have always seen bedroom antics as something that should stay in the bedroom between 2 people who have feelings for each other and who are in a relationship. It doesn't need to be broadcast to the whole world.
Rubbish like that is just turning things into a culture of sex and it's nothing short of cringe worthy.
Youngsters have always tried to be like grownups before their time. When I was a lot younger, myself and kids my age thought it was "cool" to smoke and try to get into a nightclub when under age to see our favourite bands. Since it was something adult's did, it made it all seem cool, fun and there was a thrill of being in an 18+ nightclub at the age of 15.
Today's culture is sex. It's everywhere, films, tv, new shops have opened selling all sorts of sexy clothing (Ann Summers), books. There's too much of it.
Again when I was younger, if a film had a sex scene it would be more suggestive than showing it all. I.e 2 people would go into the bedroom, kiss once and then scene would cut off to them waking up the next morning. Now so many films show much more, nudity and a lot of the sex act itself.
This is something that heavily turns me off... Watching a film and 2 people are up to naughty things in the bedroom. It's sleazy and could easily have been portrayed suggestively than showing it.
Now the younger generation are turning sex mad too because it's so commercial and adult stuff is seen as "cool". Girls are becoming pregnant at younger ages, idiots are going out for more 1 night stands and more STI clinlic's are opening.
The UK has a new wave of "Jeremy Kyle" culture that has only come around in the last 10 years because of kids having kids.
Books like 50 shades are to blame. I was on the bus the other day and a group of school girls probably aged between 11 and 14 were talking about 50 shades. They were being pretty graphic and 1 of them was saying about things she had done with some other school kid a few weeks previous. -

Wow I just love how you guys are totally into this. Thanks for the opinions. That makes all sense now. I haven't read the book neither and I am not going to but some people are just super crazy about this movie and no it doesn't make sense. But yeah if everyone is happy then I am good. I just saw someone on facebook who said something like "....If you plan on going to see it you may want to save the money (or watch redtube)." Love it.

I saw the movie on Friday when it opened and I've been waiting to see it since I heard it was being released last year. I don't usually read books and will always opt to wait for the movie if possible. Anyway, thought it was a really good one
Oh an blue, I loved "Earned It" since the moment I first heard it! The soundtrack for 50 Shades is awesome! -

Saw the movie yesterday and to be honest was a bit disappointed. It moved slow......too slow so it could be an invitation to a sequel. The whole concept here is not completely about sex it is about a Dominant/submissive relationship which includes sex. It explores what this type of relationship is. It's not about abuse to women it's about total trust. I hope the sequel progresses a bit faster or i won't see the third one!

50 Shades moved my ass to the cinema! I thought it was dreamy from beginning to end. I thought the slowness made it work. It was a build up and obviously there has got to be another movie on the way. Women tend to respond to mental stimulation and to watch the relationship develop captured my attention. And the chemistry - there was lots of chemistry between them. They both entered into new territory, which was out of their comfort zone because of this energy between them. Good stuff!
Some think it's like a porno flick filled with sex scenes but it's not. In fact, all the risque scenes were quite short and not as graphic as I expected. I was a bit disappointed I'm kidding!
