Well.. i kind of see the proposal here.. but the age is way off, i do feel that teaching the right way to gamble and safe gambling is a good incentive for areas that allow gambling, but at least raise the age to maybe 18 or 19.. 12 is too young and could backfire and cause alot of addicted, problem gamblers.. the average age for addicted smokers and alcholics was starting about age 12 it's an easily programmable unmature age, a latter age is more open mnded to other things so addiction is less likely.. as far as my own child.. no way i'd rather not have them have anything to do with it until they are at least of age, same as drinking.. not to say that it can't happen at any age, but i'd rather not have these types of recreations pushed on my child so young.

I agree with Imagin, I think that the age should be at least 16.

If i catch my teen gambling it will be one or two problems.I know the dangers of addiction and i dont think a 12 yr old has the ability to quite while hes ahead.

That's interesting. Kids are taught about other vices such as alcohol and drugs at a young age. Why not gambling? On the other hand I don't think gambling should be in the same league as alcohol and drugs. Sure there are dangers of going overboard but they are not permitting the children to gamble they are just educating them about how to do it safely when they are of age. Same as alcohol. Sure, you can have a glass of beer or wine but don't over do it. Do you disagree with kids being taught the ropes on alcohol and drugs?

I think it's way too young and could well lead to kids wanting to try it out. 12 is the perfect experimental age and I think they should wait until they are at least 17.

I think 12 is way too early. The children today have enough to deal with..bullying,peer pressure, drugs, alcohol, homelessness (some are) without adding a possible addiction to the mix.Let them be a kid first, they will learn about all the vices soon enough.
