Hi Gang:
Just came across a serious topic we haven't talked about yet this season.
Anyone ever get what we sometimes call the Holiday blues?  How about when the sun doesn't shine for days and days and we feel really low? Even the holidays, instead of being a happy time , brings on saddness. Holidays for so many can be so stressful.

"Winter is a time when many people experience a case of the winter blahs. For most this can be just a sense of feeling down or mildly depressed. For others the onset of winter may lead to more severe bouts of depression that can interfere with ones ability to function at work or in the home. This reoccurring form of depression, known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) usually begins in the Fall, increases through the Winter holidays, and doesnt let up until the return of Spring."

Symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder include:

•Extreme fatigue and lack of energy
•Increased need for sleep; sleeping much more than usual
•Carbohydrate craving and increased appetite
•Weight gain

Mild forms of winter depression may be helped by spending more time outdoors and exercising regularly.  Cheesy
(This is more severe in the Northern Hemisphere.  Angry)

Just a post for FYI, as I love my LCB family.....

Holiday blues is very common.  Mostly it is caused by unrealistic expectations and too much materialism.  I know some of this is medical related, but we'd have a lot less holiday blues if folks just simplified and spent some time at a food bank.
