My hubby & I always give each other some scratch lottery tix for Christmas. This year, we didn't seem to win as much as in past years (often up to $50). Some are a bit confusing as to whether you won anything or not and the worst for me are the crossword & bingo cards. So....I sat those cards aside that we didn't think we won anything on and I was going to recheck them later before heading to town to cash in the winning tickets (which came to about $22). As I was going over all the LOSERS....I happened across one that my hubby forgot to scratch off a bonus number box on, which gives you an extra chance to win....OH.....MY.....GOD.....I couldn't believe my eyes! I had to look again....and again...because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. $1000 winner!!! Yes, my darling handsome hunk of a man almost tossed out a $1000 winning scratch ticket! I am headed to town now, to cash in the tickets....he says my reward for recovering the near-loss.....he'll split the winnings with me. What a guy huh? We're going to our local land based casino New Year's Eve as we have the past 4-5 years...driving down in our motorhome and will spend the night celebrating and enjoying SOME of the $1000 he just won

What a fantastic outcome Hymacaw and to think it was nearly thrown in the bin. Very nice and good luck with your winnings. Your hubby sounds a very generous man.

I am SUCH A GOOBER.... This was not a winning ticket...See I told you so...I cannot read those danged things to save my life. If I had CLEARLY read all the fine print it would have told me that little box I thought had an extra number....was actually a second game within the card and therefore...a big fat loser. So sorry folks...I shoulda checked the card at the store first before getting all excited. Appreciate your kind replies however...thank you...and the the good news is, we still have New Year's Eve at the casino to look forward to!! oh and Froggy....I just noticed we have the same avatar...now THAT is funny!! We obviously have impeccable taste

Awww Hymacaw... I am always so afraid I will miss a winner that it is hard to throw them away... You go make up for it on New Year's Eve! Win so big that the $1000 will seem like pocket change!

Awww geneco...thanks for being depressed right along with me! What made me feel worse than being such a goober for misreading the ticket..is that I really ruined my hubby's day. He had BIG plans for that winning ticket!
