Hiya Guys and Dolls,

I went to the pumpkin patch and picked out some pumpkins to carve. I got one huge pumpkin that weighed in at a whooping 125 pounds!! That one i am not going to carve.

I looked online for some interesting ideas to carve my pumpkins. Some of them are truly amazing.

What ever happened to the triangle eyes and nose pumpkins......he he he!!

Getting it in the car and bringing it home was a Saturday Nite Live skit in the making.

We went to this cute little pumpkin farm that has been in the family since the 1800's. Down the road was another pumpkin farm but much much bigger. Feeling kinda sorry for this farmer with such stiff competition down the road we decided to go to his farm.

It was sweltering hot. When i told him i wanted that great big ole pumpkin i thought for a moment he was going to try to talk me out of it! He managed to roll it off the skid with my help into a wagon where it was weighed!

I would not fit in the trunk! His wife brought a big blanket from the barn where we put the pumpkin on it and lifted it by the ends of the blanket and swung in the back seat.

Getting it out of the car was a sight to see! We had to roll out it literally all the way to the yard where it found it's happy home in the front yard!

Here it is.....the one with my hand on it!

That's a big one lips. The squirrels will have field day chewing on that.

I think you should carve a pumpkin like this.

Well, my daughter carved five pumpkins and some were real cool but two days later they brought too many flying bugs so I had to trash them...
Is there any way to keep them without them getting mold and bugs?
My little monkey cried when I got rid of his pumpkins...please give away some advices!!! Smiley

I did make pumpkin seeds! But the big pumpkins are not for pies. There is only certain pumpkins that are good for baking and they are usually the small ones.

I didn't carve the big baby. Prolly last til Spring's thaw!

Does anyone have any good recipes for some pumpkin seeds?

I made some cinnamon/sugar pumpkin seeds, im gonna try to make some more with chili powder, see how those turn out.. anyone every try to make some with like chocolate or caramel seeds?

Also does anyone have any ideas on what to do with the left over carved pumpkins, what i do with mine is chop them up and allow them to turn composte, this year i ended up with some pimkins (little pumpkins) growing out in the garden, same thing came though with some left over cantalope seeds and peels.. ended up with cantalope lol none were intended they just came growing through!
