i feel this poll has been fair and every1 has such different opinions. From my experience whenever people get on politics they seem to get angry and border disrespect. I am so very proud of you guys for keeping this civil. I also am undecided but i cant help but weep tears of blood from the state of this world

Very nicely put Rena!  As a twenty year military veteran and a current small business owner I am always fighting back the inner rage that i have felt in regards to several current policies of this administration.  Sometimes it is very hard to hold these feelings inside but i wholeheartedly agree with your state of  the entire world feelings.  What ever happened to peace and goodwill to all???  It sounds so simple.

You can not expect one person to clean up a pile a sh!t as high and wide as Mount Everest, all while having the people who are supposed to be supportive/respectable/appreciative of you, against you! And in some cases out to get you...

I think we can since he took the position knowing full well what he was getting into.

The next President can look forward to the 'pile of sh*t' Obama left them with. Smiley

I wouldn't say I'm against him.  I just don't like his vision, policies  or what he has done so far.  I just hope nobody is out to get him.

He seems like a great family man, one whom I would probably appreciate in any other job.

The new polls will most certainly show an increased popularity of the pres. Obama after the Bin Laden killing.

Well within the first 2 years of his presidency he has already been on TV more than any other president. I think he is all about liking the "fame". The problem with the country started long before him or even Bush....history is already starting to show that Clinton screwed alot of things up with his false sense of hope and everything came crashing down. Fact is until politicians go back to "by the people for the people" and not by the money for the money...the greed will continue and politicians will continue to get rich. Afterall our government is so worried about looking "Socialistic" that we are one of the only countries to have a healthcare system where the rich get treatment and the poor die!

I think there will be a shift of how people feel about President Obama after this historical event that has taken place. Not only in the US but worldwide opinion will change to an extent.

I think that what the president did was extremely courageous. He should certainly be praised for his efforts and accomplishments of this mission. Looking at him in pictures and on TV it's as if you can see the burden this man carries. It is never an easy job.

I read where he asked questions of his key people in the "situation room". And had to sleep on it before he made a decision on what to do. The room  was divided whether to act or not. He took a bold stand and that spells COURAGE.

He has made a name for himself in history and i hope we all remember that because too often we tend to forget the good that has been done.

I was not really an Obama supporter myself but i have to give credit where credit is due. Obama has worked his way into our hearts with this one.

I think this is my first post and an opinion on the subject regarding our current president.
I don't particularly agree or disagree in his presidency and his work.
So I guess I can be viewed as a neutral.
I do believe that he has been doing  a far better job than past presidents especially this new event and I think he deserves the credit but doing much worst in some areas especially his strong support in another bloody war...what happened to the man who shouted for being an antiwar before an election? He sure did not stop taking our young children to these endless wars...
To those who might think I am not a patriotic citizen from what I am about to say,I am just one of those many who believe in To Oppose War is Patriotic and I am in no way of trying to offend anyone but it's just my belief in certain things...

War can only gain nothing but a bloody disaster!!!
Remember the irony of how this evil Bin Laden was created and later was given the power in the first place...! What if we created another of him from these wars?
Our governments wants to protect Libya’s civilians and while doing so they can't avoid harming the civilians..., but It is as if other governments of their own are not killing civilians in the region and so many lives of our troops especially the youth...
From what I understand, this war is more about the control over oil and stopping the rebellion of workers and younger people in the region from being more radical and anti-systemic.
The governments launching the assault on Libya have been saying that they do not have money for our education and health care, etc.and we,citizens bound to suffer, but how are they finding the money to support another war now???
It seems to me this is just another war like the wars before in the past that it just signifies the fact that imperialists who arrogantly believe they are stronger and more powerful, can destroy any country they like in their own political and economic interests.
Once again, this is just my personal opinion and it will take no more war for me to be on his side!

I see where you are coming from Nan and no one likes war, that i think we can all agree upon. But there is a lot of responsibility placed on the US to step in. We are either chastised for stepping in or we are chastised for not stepping in.

Sometimes i feel we are in a no win situation and we come under extreme criticism from other nations. It is the price we pay for being considered the "Super Power". These very countries that tend to go against our system are the very ones that ask "where is the US" when something goes down.

We are far from a perfect nation and i don't pretend to think we are. But we are also quickly scrutinized for any action taken. We have done tremendous good in this world as well as some mistakes along the way. We are always going to be under attack for one reason or another and always be called upon to lend a helping hand.

Unfortunately we don't live in a world where war is not necessary. It a senseless loss of lives and it is mind boggling that we can't sit down like adults without having more blood shed and have a better respect for all nations and come to a compromise.

Will that ever happen on this universe......i may be a dreamer but when it comes to this......it is where the dream ends for me.

Nan and Lips,

Great posts by both of you!

I agree with both of your posts even though one strongly opposes war and the other see's the necessity.

Our nation is the most hated and the most revered.  I understand why WE are called upon in time of need but often wonder why we keep helping everyone else when nobody seems to come to our aid.

In the aftermath of 9/11, many countries offered a kind word but I don't recall any sending aid.  It seems when there is a disaster in other countries, we don't just offer words but so much more.

Following other countries natural disasters, we offer financial aid. How many telathons have there been for other countries?  Text a number to give $10. etc. etc.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall hearing about other countries setting up hotlines, fund raisers, etc. during the aftermath of Hurricaine Katrina, 9/11, the oil spill among others.

I have always been a supporter of President Obama, he was called a wimp, and a few other names, but he stood strong......and he gave America and the world a wakeup when it was announced that Bin Ladin was layed down......America wanted that, but we also want a better America and that is going to take some times...no matter what he was given a shaky American and he cant do it all by himself....there are just those folks that will never ever support him and thats okay.....that is why we have the tree bodies of government, the executive, the legistlative and the judicial.....so that no one would have absolute power....but there is evil in politicals, thats a fact.  He had to do what he had to do, and I am proud of President Obama, he is not the wimp, skimp, imp some folks thought he was, and more will be revealed, give it some time, he may be back for another term.....who knows what tomorrow will bring.....Bin Ladin is dead.  GOD BLESS AMERICA!
