Lovely pics ladies. 

Here is a pic of my parrot and his name is Blue. I've had him for about 6 years and he was 10 when I got him.  It was a friend of my sisters who told me about this poor little fellas plight.  He was hated by his owner and treated like dirt - knocked around in his cage and his food was just really basic seeds and not enough for him.  He was a dull orange colour and there was a little bit of dull blue on him and that was it when I got him.  The owner of the parrot (my sisters friend's dad - apparently when his daughter was 10 she had a little pet rabbit and one day when she got home from school, he had killed it and cooked it and made her eat it!) 

This is how he looks now and he has a brilliant mauve stripe down the side of his wing which you can't see.  He doesnt talk and I dont think he ever will - he is too scared of people and their hands because of his abuse.  He does mimic the phone and he does a cute little "peep" when eating something he really likes. He has never bitten me and he comes and sits on my shoulder.  I also have a budgie called "The Nutter" purely and simply because he is one!  He is about 14 years old and he mimics the parrot!  Sorry about the size of the picture but its all I have.

EDIT AND P.S.  After a lot research I found out that he is a Crimson Rosella from Australia.

OMG Blue..horrible story (nice bird)..horrible story.  Reminds me of an old Vincent Price movie I saw when I was young.  I don't remember what it was but it always stuck with me it was so horrible.  Kinda the same thing.  This lady had this little poodle she really loved, and Vincent Price killed the dog, cut it up, and cooked it into a meat pie, and made it for dinner.  Every time I see pot pies, I get the creeps!

Yes it is a vile story Nalgenie but sadly its all true.  When my sisters friend (the daughter) told me I said you gotta get me that bird as quickly as you can.  The thing is that the day my sister and her friend went to get him, her dad was hinting for some money!  He didnt get a penny. 

that is really sad..some people really  don't deserve pets.  Glad you got him.

Ok, I was messing around before, and posted a fake pet..

This was my real buddy Smokey, who recently died from mouth cancer.

He loved to swim, and play ball, and play fetch since he was a pup.

When he just came home, he ran and grabbed a stick 10 times bigger than him, and ran with it looking like Dino from the Flintstones.
He never stopped till the day before he died.  He was a real trooper.  He loved to play.

I had to let him go, he would not do it himself..he was too tough.  It sucked. :'(

this is my my precious lil girl, now gone but as in life she was always in heaven im sure god spoils her as my husband did  (he put here up there because he said she got board on floor where she couldnt watch  )

        I had two little dogs once. There names were Priscilla and Bear. They were Mother and Son. I had them for 17 and 15 years, and lost both of them within a 2 year span. This was just about 5 years ago now. I still think of them everyday, and they visit me in my dreams.  Losing an animal to me is one of the most excrutiating pains in all of life.  I will never understand why mans best friend has such a shorter lifespan than ours.  I plan to ask God when I see him.  I do feel when one has a shorter life span than ours and I am aware of it, I tend to appreciate it more and take everyday as even more precious than I would normally.
             Here is a pic of Priscilla in her last days, and I'll get Bear up here as soon as I can...

This is my little Evinrude (like the brand of boat motors because he purrs like a motor).  He is one of the strangest cats I've ever owned.  It's like he's human or something *please note the tie, he means business.  He makes these strange chirpping noises all the time, it's kind of like a high pitched purr and that means 'Hey, whats up?' or 'Pay attention to me'.  He also talks ALL the time, mostly in his sleep.  My husband and I will be talking and Evinrude will be sleeping and all of a sudden he will make this weird perfectly timed meow, like it's his opinion on the subject.  He's definitely made our lives better and more entertaining!  He is rather spoiled though... ;D

Nicole24....Evinrude (LOVE THAT NAME) is adorable. I have three cats and don't they just all have personality? It sounds like evinrude is one intelligent guy. I love to hear that he is spoiled. It isn't hard to do.
He looks very sophisticated in that tie. Does he give stock tips? hahahaha             

Hahaha!  No, unfortunately he doesn't give stock tips, just tips on which litter, food, and treats he likes best!

Ok so here are my babies.  The cinnamon one is my wolf Harley and the withe one is my husky/pitbull Cheyenne.

When you post a reply message, there is a little plus sign on the bottom left corner of the page that reads Additional Options, it is underlined.

Click on that.  It gives you a couple of smiley options, and an attachment option,

Just browse your computer for you pic, and attach simply right there. :)

Another easy way is to upload your photos to a place like photobucket (www.photobucket.com) copy the link to the pic and then place [ symbol with img then another ]  symbol in front  of the link and then [ symbol with / symbol  then img then another ]  symbol in back of the link   without adding spaces and hit return and viola the picture appears!  or even easier when posting click on the picture that looks like the globe and add your  url to your picture

Here are the photos of how emaciated and sick they were when we rescued them :( Little Ms. Meadow Marie was covered in mange and had very little fur and sore spots all over :( Lily Anne had a raw wound  on her neck from her chain and was very thin and suffering from 3 different parasites. Knowing how sweet and lovable both of them are it makes me sick to my stomach to think of what they have been through and how anyone can do that to a harmless animal!!!! :( :( :(

Me too..... I went to the shelter for the sole purpose of seeing another dog that I saw online, but while walking through the kennel i felt a gentle tap on my arm and turned to see her with her arm poking through the door tapping me..... my heart melted and I went no further!

You are so right blue, she loves him soooooooo much!!!  His pet food actually comes from the Vet, you can't even buy it in pet stores.  The problem is she feeds him TOO MUCH of it.  He is real happy though, just tends to move a little slower than most cats.  hehe

Fat Louie is indeed a handsome fellow. A little thick around the center, but by no means does it take away from his good looks.  :D  It is so hard when we love our pets so much to not spoil them, with extra food and treats. They live for it, and we end up giving in, and in the end it does make for some plump animals. My Roxie Dog is only 2 and is over weight by a few pounds already.  She is spoiled rotten as she is adored beyond words. I have a feeling Fat Louie is loved quite a bit by his owner as well.  Thanks for sharing Fat Louie Shelli.  He is indeed a sweet kitty.

hi friends.. I am very ungry with some stupid people that loose or leave their pets. last Sunday I found a 3yrs old pekinoua.. Its very nice with clever eyes and very friendly.. I put his photo in all forums fr lost animals.. So far nothing.. Me and my children decided to keep it.. Do you agree with me?? I ll post a photo as soon as I find the way to do it!!

mrmpou: I'd say Aris is an incredible lucky dog to of found your family. You bet I would keep a sweet little dog that showed up at my door, homeless and hungry. If you did all you could to try to find the ownders there is nothing else you can do in the meantime  but take that sweet dog in and love him.  He looks very happy indeed.

This is my sisters dog Ben.  He is a beautiful German Shepherd.
      Ben is a very smart dog indeed.  He knows commands in two different languages. My sister acquired Ben after his previous owner had passed away.  Ben came to her with a chip in his ear and is believed to of come from a different part of the world.  Ben is working with a special trainer right now to see what other commands he knows, and trying to originate where the chip came from.  He is a wonderful companion, and protector.
          God Bless people who take in homeless animals....

We used to have a Real "German" German Shephard who also took commands in German...I don't know how to spell it, It was a Shutsin III.. this was like real high ranking, highly trained, very smart dog..maybe Ben is like him.

        They are working with Ben weekly and each week he shows more and more of what he knows. The breakthrus are incredible, and truely you realize you are not dealing with an average dog.  
         Tell us more of your Shepherd you used to have. He sounds amazing.....

He was huge and pure black and solid as a rock.  Very protective, very loyal.

The funniest thing I am remembering right now was his name.  It was my roomates dog, who is gay.  He named him Hummel because he was from Germany...
so one day we were out with the dog and he's calling him..hummel, hummel,
and this guy that was over was freakin..you named your dog homo? ;D ;D ;D
We were cracking up. Hey, I had nothing to do with it :D

That dog really was smart, and disciplined.  If we put him in a spot he would stay there for hours till we came back and got him.  He was amazing.  He was a lot of fun to play with too.  I definately miss him.

This is Estraya, miniture poodle, she is 1.6 years old..
I call her Poof, when her fur grows out.. she gets the biggest Poof on her
head, right now its about half way.. shes due for a grooming soon

This sunflower is right next to my bird feeder! I did not plant it! Its from sunflower seeds that fell on the ground!

This is about thee ft. tall! I'm amazed at how theses beautiful flowers grow without even trying to plant them!

It's funny you should mention "you are my sunshine". When i was really little (4-5 yrs old) my dad would sit me on his lap and sing that to me....and i would cry and cry every time he sang that song. He could never understand why there was the instant tears.

As i got older...i didnt cry anymore...he would remind often how i would! Now as life would have it....i cry again...and to be honest i can't listen to the song since he passed away.

My friend had that song on a CD from the movie "Brother how art thou" (i think thats the name with George Clooney) it came on while we were in the car....and the tears flowed. I guess sometimes we leave off right where we began.

I am a ARA (animal rights activist) and many of my babies are rescues and will have a forever home with me. The little girl in my avatar was a tiny abused/neglected minature pony--if look close--looks like she has on shoes--actually she had to have new feet made for her so she could walk again. She has a kind/loving home now--she's one of the lucky ones.

WOW moon, that is great!!! They are all beautiful..  hey I gotta question for u, do ur lamma's spit at u?? lol

He has threatened but has never spit at me! He pretty much hates everybody except LiL Jack the donkey and he has spit on every horse & about half my dogs--LOL--His name is Duke and he's the best "guard" animal I've ever had, he won't let any stray dog in my pasture and if he thinks the horses are playing to rough with Jack, he will stop them. Duke & LiL Jack are both rescues and have been together since Jack was born, I guess that's why he's so protective of him.

Awwww maybe that's the kind of "guard" animal I need.  ;)
