She works at a foundry, has for more than 20 years. She smashed her finger inbetween the core boxes on her machine and has to have part of her finger amputated.   It was the pointer on her left hand. She is righty thank goodness.

How awful wmmeden.  I hope she is ok, as much as she can be, after losing part of her finger.

So sorry to hear this.

That is really horrible wmmeden. I hope it won't affect her ability to do that job after being there 20 years. The company is paying to take care of it aren't they? Worker's comp? I certainly hope so!

thanks, ladies.  It is a small family run foundry here. I hope they will do the right thing.  I think she will go back to work if she can.  She is dedicated to that place to a fault.

If your mom works at a foundry, she must be a pretty tough lady. I'm sure everything will work out.

There are times when confronted with pain and uncertainty, just do whatever you can and then trust in faith, true faith.

God bless you and you mom.

Thanks to all of you.  She is at home recovering.  They only had to remove it to the first bend.  I knew she would be fine because, like surfer said, she is a tough lady.

She is a tough lady if she is at home already.  Glad all is ok as it can be, in the circumstances.
