Hi Members,

This summer has been interesting to say the least as far as Mother Nature is concerned. The summer climate has been probably the worst i have ever seen. Unusually cool temps combined with alot of rain.

I feel her wrath.....what is she so angry about...is it what man created in the atmosphere? Is the sudden shift in climate due to global warming?

Today as i write this....it is the end August and it is 54 degrees right now. I am almost tempted to turn on the heat!

How has it been in your neck of the woods....unseasonable temps.....too hot...too cold....drought.....lots of precipitation?

In Virginia....July was milder than normal.  August has been hot.  We need rain, though.

We can always blame global climate change!

I tell you, it's not too often having what we did. We did hit the century mark, but also had like 35 days of no rain (Not the record though) but nah, unless that 7" of snow is included. That was a bit "Unusual" as we don't get that much. I can count on one hand the snowfalls we've had of more then 5" in the past 30 years.

Now if you're talking ice, that might be a bit different Cheesy (I think it was 2002 we had 6" in places and EVERYTHING shut down for an entire week. Took the post office a month to catch up with the backlog)

Lips.. we hit 110's every single day..
Then suddenly.. clouds and high winds, drops of rain
Then suddenly.. heat beyond toleration..
The again.. turn like a winter.. so strange..
Right now it is 112..sun beaming like fire.. but within the next couple hours
I'll walk outside and it's all stormy feeling... sheesh
Someone is definetly moody!!!

We live in New England, and I am used to Mother Natures Wrath.  I actually like that aspect of my part of the country.  You can always expect something unexpected.  From a major storm blowing in, to a hurricane.  Yesterday I sat at the beach all day, and watched the waves crash in from hurricane Dan. No Perfect Storm here, but a little destruction.  It was cold and raw for a day in August, and a day at the beach, but it was also kind of nice watching the huge waves, and smelling the salty air.  A little bit of bad weather is kind of exciting around here.  But it definately got way out of hand this summer.  It rained more days than I have seen in the last 20 years.
It killed most of our tomatoes, bad year for tomatoe crops they like it dry.  It spread some kind of virus around most of the area.

It went by very quick.. Sad

Hi Nal,

My maters didnt do too bad this year....but i must admit i didn't have a bumper crop either!

The main reason i like to plant tomatoes is for fried green tomatoes. I made them last Sunday and they were a hit! I guess i was alittle bit Schwandaaaaaaaaa.....wink!
