I dont believe many people win enough money for not work, but there are people that win some money. If you have a big bankroll you can win money as you can cover the losses easily.

But it's true! They play in Tehas Hold'em Poker in various poker-rooms.
Some of 'em won huge Jackpots or lottery. It's gambling too.

I have been making a fair amount on Holdem, started playing decent money games in June (1/2, 2/4 tables), made $2500 that month, $1500 in July and $2200 in August. So far this month I am even but if I can manage a $2000 profit a month I think a person could live off that. My tip is to play when its busy and look for very loose tables.

Update: September -$1500

It is very hard to make a living from gambling. Some people are just good, like admin. But only 5% can win and live from that.

I dont live from gambling wins, but I did buy a few nice things.... If i moved to Thailand and managed to keep my poker profit above $2000 a month I think I could live off that. But remember I am only in my 4th month of serious poker play so I still might be riding lady luck, if I can maintain it for 1 year I think I can call it skill, lets hope  Smiley

I start with around $1000, I like to play 3 tables at the same time.... I find I play too many crap hands if I am only playing one table.
