I found this:

The error message 'Internet Explorer has stopped working' is most likely caused by an add-on. Try running the browser with all your add-ons disabled. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If that solves the problem, you'll need to identify which add-on is causing the issue. Go to Tools, Manage Add-ons and disable and re-enable each add-on in turn.

If the issue only occurs when viewing certain websites and you're using Internet Explorer 8, go to Tools, click Compatibility View Settings, and then tick the option ‘Display all websites in compatibility view'.

Hope it helps Taaadaaa.

I would delete Explorer and use Firefox to download the new Explorer 8.  It has a nice "in private" browsing feature which leaves no trails on your Explorer software.

If you wished to continue using Explorer, I would do like Doc said, and use Firefox to download Explorer 8. BUT remember to completely remove and uninstall the explorer you currently have installed. I have seen a few complications trying to install 8 with 7,or earlier already installed. If it were me though I would just consider using Firefox. I find it a little better, and in my own opinion more secure.
