Hiya Guys and Dolls,
I saw my first Christmas commercial a few days ago, and if i have to be honest i got kinda excited! I love the holiday season but i know for many they feel it is way too early.
When do you think advertising for Christmas should start?

Anytime after Halloween it's time to get ready for Christmas (at least the present buying, particularly large expensive items imo). Lips, I'm glad there are a few like you who still get excited about the holiday. Half I've noticed either really love the holiday while the other half despise it passionately.

Well....part of me really, really hates the over comercialization of Christmas. I sometimes wonder if Mr. Jesus even recognizes his birthday anymore.
But, I understand, too, that a great Christmas Season equals JOBS! The USA really needs a great retail season in 2010.

My favorite holiday is Christmas and I too get so excited...
If I could I will leave my Christmas tree all through the year...heh.
Lights and more lights....one of the reasons why I love Vegas so much...so bright and beautiful...
This Christmas will be the most special one since my little monkey is old enough to know about it... Can not wait to decorate the house.

There is commercialism thats for sure. But at the same time its a magical time of year that happens only that time of year. People seem to open their hearts more.
Looking forward to sharing the season with all my LCB family!

I love it, Christmas commercials are so exciting, it helps to bring the happiness, joy, the memories, the sounds, the lights, the shopping, the giving, the getting, family, the food, the tree, the snow!! Weeeeeee.... uuuh i'm tired already.. is Christmas over yet? They get really creative with the commercials, i remember the very first Christmas commercial i ever seen when i was a little girl, and for a long time i looked for it every year.. i had to been around 3 or 4 years old.. It was the Chipmunks Singing "frosty the snowman" they were not animated they were puppeted (it was in 1978, or 79), i just remember being bright eyed and starting to realize the joy and fun in Christmas as a child, i just KNEW Santa was coming as i worked hard all year to be a good girl!

Personally I was kind of annoyed when I went to the Halloween section yesterday and it was filled with ornaments and Christmas paraphernalia already. I'm all for the holidays, but it's a little early for Christmas to be in my face so soon. But as doc said, it means jobs, and we definitely need a good season in that regard.
I am with Nan too, I can't wait for my kids to really be able to get into the Christmas spirit this year, so that part will be incredibly fun.

You make a good point there tood, although i do love Christmas i love Halloween to. Can we please wait till Halloween is over before we start with Christmas?
It gets a bit confusing when your looking and witches and warlocks and across the isle is angels with halos!
