I'd be happy to take the greyhound up there and repo the car for you if I get the same driving privileges your neighbor did!
Seriously, though, get your car.

Nope....not yet. He said it was 'acting up' and got the transmission fluid and filter changed and said he was giving it back to me next week(this week) I've already decided I am cleaning it up and selling it....Anyone want to buy a 2002 Kia Spectra? Used and abused by a cigar smoker with a heavy foot. If interested, call 800-I-KILL-CARS

Go and get your keys and take back your car! Just do it. Sometimes you have to do things that are uncomfortable and this is one of those times. This man has crossed the line by a long long way and surely it's time to push him back over that line by asking for your car keys.
If you just can't do it - why not ask your husband to do it for you.
Good luck.

I'm well aware that such situations are very, very uncomfortable for the whole family, as this is a family friend in question. But still, if someone, anyone (even a family friend) is abusing the family's good will, I believe, just like blue, that the whole family should stand up to it. I wish you the best of luck, girl, in overcoming this period of hardship. Please do keep us posted! Cat

Well... He came over last night and returned my car! Holy crap! I think it may snow today!!!!!... Amazingly, he cleaned it up real nice too and filled the gas tank. I drove it this morning to take my daughter to school, and I had a bit of a hard time starting it. My neighbor said,"oh yea. It does that sometimes..maybe because its cold" mmmmmhhhmmmmm. Whatever. No, he hasn't gotten his van or other car fixed yet....he was able to return my car, because he upgraded to my other neighbor's 2007 Mitsubishi!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good God, all I can say is 6mths waiting, I'm glad I have MY car back!! Guess he figured he dumped enough money into the kia, time to borrow someone else's.lol. I'm sorry friends, but if any of you are ever in need of anything at all, for the 1st time in my life, I have lerned to "JUST SAY NO". Ask someone else... I'm not the one.

lol...funny, I've been making excuses to drive it. Like yesterday, I drove my daughter to school, came home, went to the grocery store, came home, and went back to the store. Think I'll take it today to put air in tires- IF it starts! It's been hesitant starting. Maybe he destroyed the starter to. He already went through the alternator, battery, tran filter and fluid...im sure he killed the starter too. But I did notice he left his Aerosmith cd in my player...think I'll borrow it. For 6 months.
