Hiya LCB’ers,

There is usually a story as to how a gambler became a gambler. I know for myself I grew up with it. My father was a serious horse race man. I would love to go to the track and pick up the losing tickets off the floor hoping it was a winner. Some races my dad will let me pick a horse to bet on. When I won I would get so excited and wanted to head to the nearest toy store. He would buy me nachos with melted cheese…yumm there Is nothing better than race track nachos!! I would be fasinated by the horses coming out the gate. Always trying to pick the winner.

Both my mother and father loved poker and would have weekend poker games.I remember how much I loved it when it was poker nite! Out came the chips and dip, and pizza!! Being preoccupied playing poker, I could always get away with staying up just a alittle bit longer than my normal bed time. If my parents won some nice cash….the next day would be shopping and toys for me and my sister!!

Twice a year my parents would hit Vegas. There were times my parents were take us along on these trips. As we would head to the pool passing the casino I would be in awe of the lights and action. How I would wish I could grow up fast and be 21 and be able to play!

My love of gambling I learned from my parents. And yes on my 21st b’day I celebrated in Vegas!!

How did learn the love of gambling?

I think it was the Carnivals that would come to town...We'd have county and state fairs where "Winning" prizes was the thing.

When I turned 18, met a woman who was into bingo and so that hooked me. 21 RENO!! (Won $1,500) after that, any time I went, gave them back some Smiley

It is a part of our nature. I was a salesperson for years and worked on commissions only and that is the ultimate gambling you can think of. But my first experience that I can remember would be at a county fair and this guy telling me how easy it would be to knock over these two jars and let me do it for free and of course it worked until I decided to do it for real and I lost. I did it until I had spent all my money and had to go home. You think that would have thought me not to gamble but hey I guess I'm a slow learner here I am at 61 years of age and still gambling. I believe we all want something better for ourselves and see this as a possible way of getting it. Like they say if you don't play you can't win.

I started sportsbetting when i was 16-17yrs old. I would go to the land based bookie and place bets on Euro football ( Champions League , UEFA Cup etc ).

I wasnt really hooked, and I didnt have much money to spend on betting... so I was soon to quit.

The online gambling is another story... As soon as i left Uni (3rd yr of Law studies), I started searching the web , trying to find a way to make a quick buck. Thats how I discovered blackjack whoring. For me it wasnt about the trill, wasnt about the gambling at all. It was about making money.
And back then ( end of 2006 ) there was a lot of good cashable BJ bonuses, with low wagering requirements. It became my regular "job" to whore the bonuses. It involved minimum risk , and the profits were great for a Uni dropout heheh

I made some nice money  Wink

Nowdays, I dont bonus whore, but I do gamble from time to time, not too successfully though hehhe
