  • I guess I'm just old and set in my ways because the horror movies this day and age suck eggs.I remember seeing movies like the Exorcist,Rose Red and the Howling that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.The scariest thing about going to the movies now is the ticket prices. What gives?I think i will write my own horror movie laugh_out_loud grin

  • I couldnt agree more Rena. Old horrors had some story and good acting, they had some idea behind it, the only thing that was missing is today's technology but it was still extremely good. Now that we have technology there scripts are dull and empty, the acting reached the levels of cheap porn  and overall there is nothing scary at all, sick and twisted maybe, but not scary.

  • The new horror movies PALE in comparision to the likes of the original Psycho, The Shining,  Cujo and Children of the Corn.  The classic are where it's at.

  • I watched a very old horror when I was about 14 with my Mum called The Tingler - watch a scene HERE.  Can you hear that noise in the background - that is supposed to the tingler making that noise.

After watching the film, I went to bed and left the light on for comfort as I couldn't stop thinking about this horror.  Whilst reading (in the top bunk of bunk beds) my Mum crept into the room and made that noise whilst moving her hand across the covers which I could feel on my leg.  I screamed so loud and she just absolutely fell about laughing.  I did laugh eventually and there was the two of us just howling at 1am in the morning.  I've never forgotten it and it still makes me chuckle to this day.

Looking at the film now, it is really pathetic but at 14 it was a very different thing.  So I definitely agree with you Rena, they don't make them like they used to.

  • Now a days horror flicks are more into blood and guts, and the most ridiculous way of killing people.

The two old school series that scared the mess out of me was children of the corn, which till this day is hard for me to watch.

and the old old school halloween. Michael Meyers.  The new versions go above and beyond in trying to change the original story.

  • thanks for the clip blue      wink

  • I remember seeing "War of the Worlds" (The Original) I think Halloween 3 "Season of the Witch" was fantastic. Plus I am a fan of Godzilla and other of the "Creature Features" (As I called them)...Now, it's guts, blood and gore, no good storylines...

Oh, I had some co-workers see that "Devil Inside" and said "It sucks" so beware...

  • One of my favorite horror movie is Exorcist.
Good luck rena for writing your own movie.

  • You will find much acting talent here at this forum wink

  • In theaters this Friday, Chronicle begins when "Three high school friends gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Soon, though, they find their lives spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides."

  • Anyone remember Dark Shadows and the remake they tried to do in the 90's?  Ben Cross rocked as Barnabas. I loved both version and I even think they are doing a movie directed by Tim Burton

  • My favorite horror movie is evil dead, resident evil, ghost ship, screm, I love to look at terrifying film whenever I got time.  Its a movie that i want to see again and again. In this movie the all horrible screen  &  stunts are fantastic. It has good screen play and dialogue. It has great sound effect.

  • foe me exorcist.. its like muntil i go to sleep i can see. the head turner in the movie literally!!!  hysterical

  • agreed about the head turner when i first saw it i slept with my mom for a year whistle
