Gamble addiciton
« on: February 18, 2012, 04:18:16 PM »
Anyone else had this and succesfully stopped, had a good look at my depostits/cashouts the last 6months and it was just getting worse so something had to change and im 3weeks now and going without any deposits at all only played 1 single freechip lucky club send me and that dident want me to try a deposit.

But seeing all these new slots still makes u want to try them but so far just trying quickly in funmode has been enough rather save my money and actually buy something as i uselly just ended up playing back my winnings seing i had money suddenly for larger deposits/betsizes.

And actually it feels nice to not comming home and want to play slots the urge is getting lower each day rarely think about it now.

But wont leave the forum had alot of great time here and tons of friendly people  :-bd

good for you kazzi.  many years ago when i first started playing online, i played at lucky nugget.  the deposit and withdraw method (i forgot exactly what it was called)  was directly linked to my bank account and was instant for deposits and withdrawals only took like a day max.  In the course of one year, i had deposited 50 thousand us dollars and withdrew 70 thousand dollars. (so at least i was ahead) but it had gotten to where i was playing every available minute of every day and half the night every night.  I knew i had a problem but only stopped when they started cracking down and my bank started asking alot of questions.  years later, i started up again but nothing crazy.  I went cold turkey for new years resolution and lasted about 4 weeks i think.  i have played several times since then for small amounts but the fact that it is a pain to make a withdrawal has been a major turnoff to wanting to play.  You have made the right decision to stop,  a good rule of thumb about any addiction....is......if you think you MAY have a probem,  then you already do have a problem.  I hope your urges go away and you can get something nice with all the money you will save.  good luck!

Well done kazzi on having the strength to give up.  I hope you achieve your goals and I'm so glad you are staying on the forum.  Is there something specific you want to buy with all the money you have saved?  Would be nice to know when you achieve it.

Dabigdog - that is hell of a lot to deposit and I'm glad you are ahead and have curbed your gambling.

Kazzi, addictions are never easy to stop and to realize there is a problem and try to stop is a step in the right direction.
A few years back I had a drug problem and I knew I NEEDED to stop :-[.I have been clean now for 8 years and I know it can be done.
We are in the process of buying a new car and I know if I was still using that would not have been possible.
There are ALWAYS things we can use our money for and the online sites of course will take our money..way to easily but with the way things stand now, good luck getting it back!

Think of all the things you can use or buy instead of giving it to the casinos and keep up the good work!! :) :-bd

A new computer, tv and a nice holiday are great goals to be aiming for Kazzi.  Best of luck and let us know how it's going.

You set admirable goals for yourself kazzi, i wish you best luck in achieving them all.

Being temperate in everything you do in this life is an everyday strugle, but life is too beautifull, short and diverse to spend it on any kind of addiction. A bit of black humour, my friend's dad had an addiction to food, he lost everything he had in life (including his health) in overeating, so i suppose addiction lurks in many things.

Also, you achieved amazing thing Rosebud, i lost many good friends in their drugs addictions, i wish you to endure in your decision and prosper.

Kazzi i admire your openness to share with us. You are on the right path and are showing a lot of self control. I understand all too well the love and passion for playing and playing  only free chips for awhile might just be the best way to go about it until you are sure you can set some limits..

A huge hug and kiss for you!  :-*
