European Amateur Snooker Championships Prague

Hi all,

As quite a few of you know i play snooker for Ireland on an amateur level, well i'm off to prague on the 2nd of June to represent Ireland I finished rank no 2 this year in Ireland my highest ranking yet so i hope u can all give me a little prayer that i will perform well and make my country proud, its costing me over 1k to go and play but its worth it to represent my country and hopefully do well

I will keep u updated on this thread on  how i am getting on , if u dont see posts it means im losing haha

The prize money isnt huge as its amateurs

runner up 300 euro
semis 150 euro
quarters 100 euro
high break 100 euro


Now all i need is a nice big win on a casino before i go to help with my spending money

xbornluckyx ended the group stage with 2 wins and 4 losses, so no last 16. We're still very proud of you though!

Just to compete at this level is an achievement alone. Hope u enjoyed the experience and surroundings of a different country. Whatever position u came in, we're proud of you.

hi all,

firstly i'd like to thank you for all your great support on here throughout the championship.

Unfortunately the first day i got there i developed a problem with my arm and it was swelling up while i was playing, despite this i still fought hard and managed to get 2 wins out of the 6 i played and had 2 black balls in other matches.

I have since been to the doctors when i got home and found out i have inflamed nerves in my shoulder and arm and have been put on anti-inflammatory tablets and gel and told no snooker til it has calmed down

The experience i had over there was absolutely fantastic and the the standard of play was very high. I will certainly be trying to qualify to go again each year and hopefully get a better result next time.

Considering you had a bad arm and shoulder, you did really well.  Congratulations on a good result and I hope next year, you have a great result.

You did extremely well given the circumstances, you had two great wins and two of those losses were very close. Congratulations and a speedy recovery!

You had a problem but you stayed and fought. That's really great and admirable. I hope you recover fast and start practicing again.
