Hi Members,
Along the highway was a billboard....nothing fancy to catch the eye. Seemed as if it could quite easily be overlooked. No artistic art work....no exotic colors or neon lights nor beautiful backdrop. Maybe it was the simplicity of it that drew my attention.
On it read one question......a question that really made me think....If you could ask God one question....what would it be? Now, i would think a million questions should flood through my mind all at once.....but what made it so difficult to come up with the question was, i was only allowed one.
Do i ask why am i here....will i make it through the pearly gates....whats the winning lotto numbers for tomorrow or something deeper. Why did this person have to die or why is their disease or is their really a heaven?
One question......just one question. What would you ask God?

Well, here's mine:
WHY? (Meaning all of this, creation, Heaven/Hell, tribulations suffering wars, life, death, anger sorrow on and on etc)
Why couldn't we have stayed in Heaven, sung his praise and been happy eternally?

I think of alll the questions that come to mind, the one that I find I ask myself over and over is "Will I make it to Heaven?" It almost feels like a selfish question to me, yet that is the one I am most concerned about. I know if I can make it to Heaven, all the other questions I may ever have will be answered at that time. Why he allows suffering, death of a child, etc. But you gotta make it there first, you know? I do all I can to assure my acceptance, but you just never know.  One question I will ask him when I get there is this....(Silly to some I suppose but important to me). "Why do our beloved pets only live a fraction of our lifetime?" Perhaps the answer is so we will appreciate them even more while we have them.  PMM |

I am a Christian, but a rather liberal one. So I would ask a question about the WHY of human suffering. The heaven/hell/devil stuff is not interesting to me.

I think the one question i would ask is......do we come back?
Does that explain the suffering and pain in life.....is this an emotion we must experience? Is this the school life and until we get it right we return and return?

so many...many question lips. it really is difficult to come up with one.
i used to love going up county..in the darkest, dark places, where there are absolutely no lights, and find a field out of the way, and lay there at night and ponder..
the stars are in the ZILLIONS, from no lights around, and it really gets your mind going.
you can see shooting stars allover...just looking up at the vast expanse of infinity...
makes you feel very small in such a very large picture. i have spent many nights racking my brains trying to figure it out. and sometimes in my drug induced stupor, i thought it would be good to find out, maybe i could do it like the indians...but questions still and probably alway will remain till we die. way too many to ask just one...

Nal,
You have a way to bring me right there with you! That has to be my fav pastime....to look up at the nite sky in all its glory. How insignificant we seem in the vast scheme we truly are.
I have always had a fascination with the sky and its stars and moon. Maybe that's why i have.......to know in my heart that this is something so much bigger than you and i.
I believe without a doubt there is a higher power. How can there not be? The universe defies explanation. We find one answer that only leads to another question. It's miraculous to say the least.
Because of it, how can one not believe in a something. For skeptics who don't believe in a higher power....if it seems impractical....not realistic.....look up.....think it about it......does that not seem impractical...unrealistic...but it exists.

I had dream..this time about this topic...
in my dream i was sitting on the rocks at the edge of a lake....sitting there with God...
I was told I had one question that I may ask you...and so I paused to think what to ask...and then I wondered why? what was the purpose behind his creations? why create life in the first place? and so with excitement and to perhaps get a grasp of what was the intention behind life from God's point of view....and so i asked Him why?
and then the dream suddenly moved as if it were a video being fast forwarded....until it finally play was pressed and there i was walking away alone...disappointed and distraught...
the only answer i got from Him was "Why not?"
kicking the rocks that were in my path as I walked with my head down..it suddenly dawned on me...i understood...yes! that is why!...and so the dream ended as i woke up with a smile...
unfortunately as with many of my dreams..what I wrote is all I could remember....and I can't remember what i understood....darn it!!
any chance you might know? maybe joggle my memory???

Hi Soda,
That was a deep dream there!!! Sounds like to me it has more of a message. The response of "why not" is the key.
Maybe the dreams meaning shifted direction...not "why" God....but God asking you "why not" pertaining to your own life. Take up the challenge and let go of the restraints......restrictions and doubts you have placed on yourself.
The higher power can be tricky...it may not answer what you want to hear...rather what you need to know.
The higher power may be what lies inside you......
