Well, if "some" couples would take their time to know another, not just rush into marriage, you'd see a major drop in divorce. You'll always have males/females who just want something new every so often.

I don't believe we are designed to be monogamous...we are animals after all. However, we also evolved and have working brains capable of self awareness, so it's quite possible to 'choose' to remain faithful and monogamous and act against our baser instincts. It comes down to choice.

You know me, I will answer this somewhat academically. Based on morals and/or religion, YES, being monogamus is very possible. However, there is a great deal of good research that reveals, especially for men, we are hard-wired (no pun intended) to "spead seed."
