  • Please forgive as my grammar is awful and I do waffle a bit to get my point across.

Years ago I used to play a lot of video games in arcades and used to take the **** out of the hardcore gamers, because I was not good enough embarrassed  Someone pulled me up and said, years from now the gamers u are laughing at will decide what u do and when u do it once the digital age sets in sonny, so carry on. The rest is history!

U do not see the nerd in Mr Muscle cleaning adverts anymore and are celebrated in shows like Big Bang Theory which is all good.

I see nothing wrong in being different to the norm as long as one keeps a balance , meat and veg, not all protein . What is your view?

  • We're all looking for where we fit in at some point in our lives. I think many people would find themselves lost without being able to identity themselves in some sort of subculture whether it be religious, educational or recreational. Anyway what is normal these days? I sit back and often wonder that especially as it pertains to myself! laugh_out_loud

  • I think the problem is people are labelled and branded too much, like at school. I just see people as people and I find it easier to get on with everyone when I think that way.

  • Sub-cultures are far more interesting for me, and I think they are good for society; they show richness and diversity of human nature.

  • Love this topic panettone0 because it leaves room for debate, just sorry i have somehow overlooked it.

I've always been a bit of rebel in not following society trends. If i want to quit smoking or quit eating certain foods it's not because i want to fit into society but because i want to do it for ME!

I think the biggest problem is people tend to follow like sheep too afraid to go against the flow. Are there circumstances where going with the norm is good.........of course! But what about when it's not?

We see it throughout history and war as we look back and wonder how in the world did society believe so blinding in certain world leaders?

And what gets me the most is deep down inside each and everyone at times have their own thoughts and ideas and we ignore them to blend in with the crowd because God Forbid should we be looked at as not fitting in..........pffffff!

We have to think of the agenda some of these subcultures is it politically motivated or for the greed of money? If so how is it benefiting us the real meat and potatoes of society?

Speaking of politically............what about "politically correct"? We are controlled by what we can or can not say or what we are for or against otherwise we are stoned by society.

    Ahhhh enough of my rant.....lmao!

  • People have always been different and I think that diversity is a very good thing, otherwise we'd be just robots. Being tolerant is something that I find very important, we have to respect other people's choices even when we don't understand them.

  •             Hey, wouldn't we here at LCB kinda'  be considered a sub-culture?  We're kind of a small, close knit  community  if you will  that have similar  likes and so forth.  Kind of outside the mainstream.  By the way,  Lips,  you  were starting to sound like me the way I end some of my posts...  LMAO exclamation
