Did you do you taxes on time, or just don't really care, do you try to avoid the fees and penalties by getting it done by April 15th?

I do my taxes as quickly as I can. Waiting for the paperwork in the mail is the worst part. Gotta have those W-2's. Then I file electronically, and usually have them back within days. $$$ My taxes are simple. Single, and I dont own anything. PMM

Theres a little Casino Bar & Grill here, i can't remember the name of it, i think it was called Chubbys or something.. but what was so neat about it was, if you bring in anything stamped from the post office on April 15th you got 2 free drinks. The concept was called something like "beat the deadline". It was a way to have you relax and say.. Wheeeewww it's over, and my taxes are done and sent!!! Now i can have a drink and relax

The next year I am going to do just to a section where they say "Let us do it" as I have made mistakes in the previous 2 years which they caught and fixed and gave me more money then expected!!!
But normally I "Get 'er done" asap..That's MY MONEY!!!

I always have to pay and usually file an extension. But this year I am right on time. Did them today and mailed today. No standing in line at the P.O. for me! Feels good to have them done and over with early for a change.

I have been using the same place to do my taxes for the last 13 years so I just give them my paper works and it's done. This was the first time ever I had to pay IRS... Paid $2469...that hurts but well...it's done and done.

One time I received demand letters from IRS saying that I owe them over $16.000 Of course I freaked out even before I read the letters... According to the letters, my ex. who has never been a father to my daughter, claimed my daughter for the last 13 years and I need to pay the fines....anyway, I had to send them over 400 pages of documents and over 50 pages of my personal letters...lol they probably didn't even read...ha ha ha....but I received the letter back from them and said that I owe them nothing.... I don't know if he had done the same thing again for the last three years but I am not worried any more...so that's a relief.
