I'm disgustingly tired. I work a morning/day shift, and I've been real good about pinpointing problems that keep me from sleeping.
I take 2 MotrinPms and don't gamble at all about 1 hour before bedtime. Well that was before I joined a new Casino, and they have some pretty good promotions that have been keeping me up. Plus I watched a video that got me a little excited, so needless to say, when I finally laid down I was antsy and couldn't really get to sleep.
Now that didn't stop me from going to work, but all today I've been really drowsy. It sucks to, because I've been trying to work out every day, and I know I need to work out today, but I just don't think I'll be able to do it.

Have You ever tried using music as a sleep aid (played on low volume in the background while sleeping)? I think that could help You.
I live in Apartments. In fact, I found out my apartment walls are PAPER thin, so I'm scouting for a house. I'd like to get moved in sometime around March, but I'm not so sure. Until then, I can't really play music like that. I just don't feel comfortable playing music, with people right next to me.
Sad thing is this apartment has an upstairs and an downstairs so I fell for this crap place like a fool. -

Sorry to hear that.
In this case sleep with socks on your feet. Research has shown that wearing socks to bed widens the blood vessels in your feet, which is a necessary stage in falling asleep. Plus this works like a charm: http://www.amazon.com/Berry-Sleepy-Fruit-Based-Recommended-Satisfaction/dp/B00MS942O6 -

This is just crazy. I feel like I'm going to pass out when I work out, but I've guilted myself into the session tonight.
I was low key talking to myself while putting on my workout clothes saying, "Oh well, its your fault for putting on the weight, nothing you can do but workout".
I'm going to try, but if I feel dizzy, I'm going to stop. People have gone through worse though, so I'll let that thought be my motivator! -

This is just absurd!!!
I started feeling super dizzy when I was working out, so I stopped immediately. Thats my daily workout gone out the window.
Whatever. I decide to eat a serving of Hamburger helper, and after that I took a shower. Okay, then I tried to lay down at around 7:45, but oh no I couldn't get to sleep so I came down to play in a tourney.
Then I took a 4th of a sleeping pill and went back to bed at about 9:20ish. I have been in the bed for almost an hour and now I'm noticing I'm no longer drowsy and its going on 10:30, soon it will be 11. Not only am I wide awake, its like I didn't even eat. I'm starving WTF! This is just craziness.
I'm going to get something to eat (there goes my diet). -

I have no problems with insomnia, since I started to practice physical exercises regularly, helped a lot, actually, I like to stay up late at night, but I can not :'(
I have been working out, in fact this insomnia hadn't been bothering me, until I started added on a heavier workout routine, now it seems like I'm amped up all through the night! -

Night owl here. I like to go to bed between 1:00 am and 3:00 am and get up at 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Been getting in an episode of Lost In Space the last 4 nights before calling it a night.
A lot of people switch over to night owls as they get older and do not have the old working routine to keep them in check. -

Same here! But I'm not so old, I guess I just can't fall asleep if I'm not sleepy enough. -

I never have a problem falling to sleep thankfully, but i got into a bad habit the last few months. I will wake up occasionally around 3am - 4am like i am ready to start my day. So i turn on the TV and drift back to sleep.
The only time i can't fall asleep is if i just got through gambling! I am wired for a couple hours. -

I have at least 2 sleeping disorders and I have been an insomniac since I was a kid so I am experienced in not sleeping but I know your working out is the main reason you are not sleeping because I have had the same issue. I have been working out after midnight lately and have noticed my insomnia has gone up so I have started to promise myself no more after midnight workouts so my energy is better. The Veterans Administration has disabled me in part due to my sleep issues so I know where you are coming from. I have blacked out my whole room and I sleep so much better now.

maybe drinking a few beers before going to sleep might actually help it always works for me when i cant sleep it never fails.
OKey, yesterday I drank 3 beers, nothing. Today I drank 4 beers, it's 3:32 a.m. and I still can't fall asleep I guess I'll give up this strategy, I'll become an alcoholic before I get rid of my sleeping problems. -

Try a sleep aid called trazodone. I would warn you to only take half a pill because one pill would take down a horse or put you in a coma. I took one for the first time and when I woke up I had a smile on my face and I also gave one to my ex and she said they really put you to sleep. I don't even take them anymore because they taught me how to sleep again and it's been over three years since I'v had one.

I don't consider myself an insomniac, however, lately it's been hard for me to go to sleep earlier than 5am. I've been doing lots of things in nights because as others already said, I am alone and there's quiteness and there's something calming yet productive in it at the same time. But when I do want to go to sleep but can't, I just watch some videos online and drink camomile tea.
