Wow, that is truly fantastic geneco. Im so happy for you! I remember when I was a lurker before I really posted and became part of this forum, reading about your tragic experience. Im glad everything turned out ok, and Im glad they wiped out that bill for you...You really deserve it. Take care of yourself.

Gene, Work your magic my way pls, I was hit by a car walking across the street 7 months ago. Uninsured 20 yr old I will walk with a limp the rest of my life, but i am alive. One Dr charged me $1200 for a 30 min office visit. Neurologist, just telling me you nd 2 see a podiatrist, but still chgrd $1200 for that advice. You see when you don't have ins their office told me we can chg whatever we want. Another reason why I am so happy the Healthcare bill passed. I could not be happier for you Gene. God continue to bless you, dear man.

Another very important thing I found out, that in this economy, if you don't pay for anything else, pay for your car insurance. My car insurance, even though I was not driving my car. It was my policy that saved me and your Insurance Adjuster will ONLY pay (if you are very lucky) the POLICY LIMIT on your policy. So if you have $30,000 (which is standard minimum) bodily injury my attorney told me he could have killed you (the 20 yr old who hit me) and all you will EVER get is your policy limit. So of course my policy now is $100,000 uninsured/bodily injury. I pay alot more for it but it is worth it. Now of course you can sue someone civilly and go before a jury, and they could award you millions. But here is the kicker GOOD LUCK getting it. I know from experience just because you sue someone and get a judgement means absolutely NOTHING if the person you sued has nothing.

I am sorry for your injury lucky. It's those "Type" of people that anger me the most. I have a car now and the FIRST thing was to get insurance (Liability) for it.
At one time I even carried 300K worth (Figured if I killed someone , they'd get a whopper payout, but not worth the life I took) but my limit is only $25K now (New insurance and can't afford more)
And you're right about suing and winning. "If they don't have it, how can they pay it?"
