So, in Feb I suffered a CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) in short, a heart attack. Rushed to the hospital, I recovered and thankfully, little damage...So a month went by and I get a bill from them $45K+. Now I damn well appreciate that they saved my sorry butt. I have changed eating habits and watch weight and take lots of pills. But being unemployed and with no insurance, I couldn't send them more then $10 a week. They did say "Send us your IRS info and some other paperwork, we may reduce the amount owed" so I complied as I knew I couldn't afford what they wanted, though I DEARLY wanted to pay them...Then today I receieved a letter from them. "After review of your current situation, we have reduced the amount owed to $0"... Damn, almost had to call EMS when I read that. Thank you Legacy, thank you very much!!! |

Oh Gene........THAT IS AWESOME.
To not have that bill hanging over your head to stress you out will be an incredible weight lifted off your shoulders. Your health is fragile right now, and you didn't need the added stress. I am soooooo happy and relieved for you.

lol was a bit worried with the thread title, but now i see its great! gene, i guess you deserve it! also, so rare to see a hospital, or any institute that act so humane! hats up to them: if be willing to go s far as to say you should name and fame them  for others in your country or state might feel good knowing there is a good one out there.. anyway superb news man! |

WTG Gene.... I actually had the same thing happen to me... I was in the hospital for 3 days with pneumonia... My bills were only around 10K though. Sent the paperwork back, and got the same letter.. Amount owed... $0, and account closed. Im like you gene, wouldnt minded paying if I had it, but I didnt. Funniest thing is though, at the bottom of the page it said.... Just because it was paid for this time dosnt mean its ok to do it again... I was like LMAO!!!!!!!!
