It is unfortunate there was cheating.  I liked the voting method for contests.

Congratulations Medtrans, buckeye and s2000chick on your win!  Thumbs Up

I think that punishing all members for the actions of a few is inappropriate.  The cheaters should have and rightfully so,  been disqualified from this contest as well as future contests where we members vote for the winner.  What was the criteria used with LCB employees voting for the winner?  Just curious?

PS: Since we were only given one vote, I voted for myself!

I beg to differ,

other contestants were not punished, as I have used the 3rd party service random draw - random.org ( image attached in my earlier post ). So the rest of contestants had the equal chance to win one of the 3 prizes.

By misusing the voting system the whole poll concept for this contest was put into jeopardy and under suspicion , therefore I did what had to be done.

What bothers me the most is that we tried to give something back to our members and show our appreciation. This was supposed to be fun contest and what we got was whining by some members and voting abuse.

And let me remind you all that we reserve the right to choose the winners the way we fit ( not that member's feedback is not appreciated ).

If some of you think we have been unfair then I suggest you not to participate in the future contests.

And believe me when I say this won't stop us from running more contests but any kind of abuse won't be tolerated.

Zuga, Where I said that punishing all members for the actions of a few is inappropriate, I was talking about lip's comment about never letting members vote for a winner again, lesson learned.  I agree that you did what had to be done.  And thank you for sharing  the system used to select the winner.  I again, agree that it was a fair way to select a winner under those difficult circumstances, but the tone of your post will make me think twice about rendering my opinion again.

"What bothers me the most is that we tried to give something back to our members and show our appreciation. This was supposed to be fun contest and what we got was whining by some members and voting abuse."   Cry  Sad

This says it all... The whining was annoying enough, the cheating was a sorry shock, the way it was solved was fair... they could have just cancelled the whole thing... no winners... and they could have decided it is not worth the hassle to have them at all, but they haven't... rather they have been as fair and even-handed as possible and resolved the issue...

And now they have to defend their actions?? Is gambling not an adult pastime?  Is this forum not an adult site?  Is there anyone here that does not come looking for help, advice, codes for free money to gamble with, etc.?

... if you are an adult please raise your hand!

Right on kattboots. Said to perfection. Instead of a thank you it is nothing but picking apart and attacking the lcb workers. Would not blame lcb if they don't do another contest again. You guys that run lcb are ace in my book. If you dish out an opinion learn to get a dishing right back. To the rest of you all i can say is your ace too.

Actually there was no "tone" in my post, but stating the facts. Were some whining? Yes. Were some abusing the contest? Yes. And actually we have been getting a "tone" from certain members. I call it as I see it.

Don't like what we are doing here then next time choose not to participate, and problem solved. Those who decide to participate will have their chance to win FREE prizes.

The key word here is FREE and some appreciation in return would be nice. We do not have to organize these contests but we choose to show our appreciation this way.

wow..i just dropped by to check on the winners even though I knew it wasn't me..btw..thanks to who voted for me as I think I seen one..I voted for someone else buttt...to cheat has got to be the lowest of the lows.  I'm shocked but not surprised at the lengths some people will go to win.

When we are fortunate enough to have free contests on any forum, we need to cherish the generosity of the great people who offer these prizes.

I was talking about lip's comment about never letting members vote for a winner again, lesson learned.

Since you are talking about me i suppose i should answer it even though i'm not in the mood to deal with such trivial back lash given it's Easter and all.

I think pretty much everyone "gets it" as to why it has to be this way and voting is no longer an option. It is to protect our members and it is our highest priority at LCB.
What was the criteria used with LCB employees voting for the winner?  Just curious?

Not sure what you are suggesting here by this comment and because of that i won't even dignify it with an answer. As for the rest of the members i'm sure they know the same rules apply.

I have read and reread the 2 posts that I wrote and I guess "I just don't get it!"

What exactly I did/said to deserve the type of posts that I received for my opinion and request for information about how winners were determined.

Yes, I believe that because of a handful of cheaters and whiners, out of over 35,000 members, we members, will not be able to utilize that voting process again, was like we were being punished. I see now, I should have kept that to myself.

And yes, I was just curious to know how the winners were chosen.  I guess that is just none of my business.

Member feedback is appreciated!
Sorry, Not where I'm standing.
Where do you stand for that?
On eggshells I"m guessing.............

In my last post I said that the tone of your post will make me think twice about rendering my opinion again.
Let me change that now to; it will be a COLD DAY IN HELL when I will give any feedback to LCB employees.

But, let me just say that if you hoping I'm going somewhere, leaving LCB, don;t hold your breath.

Happy Easter to all,

jade

It wasnt the question itself but they way you posted. Speaking about your "tone" , so you got one in return. And  FYI not all replies and points were directed at you.

I thought the voting would be a fun and also a democratic way to choose the winners. But sadly it failed to achieve that. Therefore we will introduce something else that will be more efficient and not subjected to abuse.
On top of this we had some members not liking the voting system, so its fair to say we cant please all.

Therefore we will run the future contests the way we fit, with the rules we set. After all we are giving FREE prizes . Fair? Hell yeah!

That was explained in one of my previous posts, before you even posted. Thank you very much.

Feedback - yes.  Insinuations, "tone"  and abuse - not.
