How many times do you encounter a loud, obnoxious, drunken player sitting next to you? He or she is mouthing off, using abusive language, pounding on the machine or table, spilling drinks and generally making you miserable.
But you take it. You feel your muscles tighten, you can’t enjoy your game, but you take it. Or you just get up and walk away.
I usually do not call for security...I get up and leave, which is not what I should do. I SHOULD call security. (I'll have to work on that) Any stories out there about an obxious patron you ended up sitting next to? What did you do? How did you handle it?

I leaned over to her giving her a toothless grin and a blast of onion garlic breath which pulled her frantically from her ongoing tirade against the Machine 'You bad Bad machine... ONE MORE!!!" and sent her diving into her purse for a giant sized tic Tac... Of course

What about people who stand behind you watching you win then ask you for money when you cash out. Or people on drugs pounding the slot machines when they lose? Or people on drugs hanging around the casinos at night in general? I also hate it when people try and sell me jewelry or other crap "for gas money".....I usually tell them they should fill up their tank before they hit the casino if they have no control. I'm not perfect but come on!

I guess the best thing Mohegan Sun ever did was put in the Station with little grocery store/coffee shop inside. So if you went home with out any money, at least you could use your card, grab a bite, fill up, and take some stuff home.
I have seen lots of people banging the machine..I might have banged one or two myself..(not too loud.) But I can honestly say I have never seen any one bumming money, or selling things, like you say..that's crazy. I thought I was bad.

I have not experienced people selling things or begging for money. Thats is Incredible. Where in the world is security when all this is going on? I am not oblivious, I know it happens, but I just have never seen it. Security does a great job where I go gamble. Security walked me out to my car one time and he told me he gets asked for gas money all the time cause people have no money to get home. I think we have established it is good advice to fill up before we hit the casino.

I never have come across people selling items or asking for gas money or anything like that, around or inside of casinos here, security does well around our casinos, they keep it clean of that, this city being such a transient town, outside.. downtown on the streets yes.. mostly i just give them what can to help, if they seem ligitimate.. i understand this town, and what it can do to you.. so my heart goes out to them.. seriously some don't know how badly the gamble bug can bite

I think where ever that casino is, I would not even want to go to it.
I have had security walk me to my car a couple times when I've had a couple big wins,
because you never know, people are always watching you play, and things like that..
but if I ever felt that uncomfortable, that I had to brush off people begging for money,
etc. I would definately say something to the casino, and find another place to play.

Hi,
My two pet peeves:
People watching me play. I hate it! When I can feel someone standing behind me just watching I turn around and look at them and then turn back. If that doesn't work and they continue watching I just stop playing and sit there until they leave.
Second is people asking for cigarettes. I use to give them one, but then thought why should I? Especially at the cost today. Now I tell them that they can buy them in the casino.
I usually park in valet so I don't have to deal with walking to my car (especially at 4 or 5 in the morning.) When I have hit it big, security has offered to walk me to my car which I thought was very nice.

But we all have to admit....that person sitting next to us that we all find irritating as hell...........seems a little more tolerable when we hit a big win...and they turn to us with a big smile and a "wtg"!
Sorta like, the girls all get prettier at closing time!
Lips
I have had that happen, hit a RF on VLT and the lady next to me said "That's so nice" I have already hit a RF earlier and was jsut working the machine down when it hit. (I bought the bar a round, there was only 6 people in there at the moment) Regarding bumming. I ride the bus to Jantzen Beach (1/4 mile from Vancouver, WA) first exit after the border in an off ramp leading to JB. Often, there's someone standing there begging. I have seen one individual several times there and he's there with his sign, cooler, beard and his Blackberry..HUH?? Yep, that's a major indicator of someone who would rather NOT work for a living and is a professional bum. That's why I now REFUSE to hand out one penny to anyone on an off-ramp. Too many are in it for the easy cash and refuse to do an honest days work. As for the "Gambling Bars" it used to be a bit thick with "Beggars" but ever since this "Off-ramp" begging became the new money maker, I rarely see anyone panhandling around there.

sometimes I think my gambling gets out of control.. thank you all for showing me there is still hope for me yet!! Hope of it getting out of control or staying in control? Reminds me of a couple of weeks ago. I was playing (And losing) my money when one older lady asked me if I could "spare" $2 for a pack of marlboros. Now this stunned me, a pack is still (On sale) about $4.00 and she'd bought them not 15 min ago!! I refused as I already had a pack with me. She sold it to someone else, played the $2 and left. Seeing that, doesn't remind me of myself, but I could be that person down the road...
