Hey!  Going to Vegas for my first trip in October.  Any opinions as to the best casinos?  Or simply which ones are your favorites and why?

Hi Dr,

Oh wow there was some mention about some members going in the fall. That would be a blast if we could all pull it off!

It depends what your looking for Dr. If your interest outside of gambling is the pool...Caesars is your answer. If you want to feel like your on a tropical island..Mandalay Bay is it. If your going with a female persuasion....then Paris shouts romance. If your going solo and want to be served by a bevy of bikini beauties...Hard Rock is your ticket.

As far as a place to gamble....walk the strip. I think the casino that has the most slots is Harrahs, that is located right on the strip.

I know your a roulette player...if at all possible take a bus downtown. See the old nostalgic Vegas. Roulette downtown has smaller minimum bets.

Walking up and down the strip will give you the opportunity to experience all the top Casinos.

I am so happy your going....you deserve a little fun my friend!

Hi Dr,

The Paris is an awesome choice! I stayed there last year and had a really great time. Your best option for food is buffets in Vegas. They are nothing like the buffets we have at home.

Paris has a really good buffet...we ate there several times during our stay. Also there is a outside restaurant that overlooks the strip. This is awesome for not only people watching but the view of the dancing water across the street at Belagio. The water goes off every 15 minutes or so...the first time i saw it sway to Sinatra..i got teary eyed it's so beautiful! If you do decide to eat there (cant remember the name of that restaurant) make reservations a couple days in advance...it books quick. You will have the advantage and take priority for staying there. Make sure you check out the roof top pool when there....fabulous!

Ceasars is directly across the st. from Paris. Ceasars offers an awesome buffet for b'fast. When there check out the shops. Though they are pricey and mostly designer shops..it really is awesome...let see the dress i liked was just a meer 3k!!!! Ceasars has a walk way that connects to Belagio if you want to check out their casino.

Rio which is down the street from you..is known for one of the best buffets in Vegas. If you go to the casino..there is daily shows of mardi gras that can be watched overhead as you play. Beware of the necklaces they throw down to players...i got clunked in the head with one!!! Also the staff takes turns throughout the day dancing on platforms in the casino and singing...that is fun to watch!

As you walk the strip...check out O'Shea's. This is a little casino that sits on a corner...surprisingly owned by Harrah's...so use your players card.

The Venetian is a must see! The ceilings are painted like Michael Angelos Sistine Chapel...this is breath taking! The marble and decor is all imported from Italy. Also they offer gondola rides...you will feel like your in italy. If you like italian food ....The Venetian can't be beat!

If you do go down town..eat at Horseshoe...they are home cooking good and reasonable!

I hope this helps some!
