hello all,

The best moment of playing slots is when you get the free spins or its bonus round and when you get the bonus round, you want to win the max you can from its bonus feature.  I'm curious to know how everyone make the selection for their bonus feature to max out their win.  Please share your experiences on this thread.  Thanks

It's not always like this, but this is the way I see it (by playing at several different RTG casinos)

Texan Tycoon:  pick the correct oil well will give you 25 free spins  or else you will get either 10 free spins or 8 free spins.  OK, here is what I do.  If I am not lucky to pick the oil well that gave me only 8 free spins, I will pick that same oil well on my next bonus round, I mean the oil well on the same side as I previously picked and usually I get the 25 free spins.  Example, if you picked the oil well on the left side that gave you 8 free spins,, pick the oil well on the left again on your next bonus round.

Aladdin's wishes:  pick the correct lamb will give you 25 free spins.

lamb3                    lamb2

             lamb5

lamb4                    lamb1

I ususally pick in the straight line, either #1, 3 and 5 or #2, 4 and 5 and I usually pick the lamb that I chose last on my previous bonus round as my first pick for my next bonus round, this lamb often give me the 25 free spins, hehe.

Clubworld casino slot:  OMG, I picked the same lady 5 times, the slot had the same lady 5 times for 100 free spins, and I chose diff lady on my 6th bonus round, the slot had the lady I picked 5X previously for 100 free spins.  I kept picking the wrong lady, lol.  I need to learn your strategy on this bonus round, hehe.

There are more games to talk about, I come back another time, please share your experience.

It's not bad luck or a bad pick. It's parimutual betting and your win is likely pre-determined. They take a group of bets and subtract their cut and pay out the rest. It's the old card trick to make the gambler feel like they are in control of their destiny. In RTG's Warlock's Spell for example, you could employ any strategy you want to get 100 free spins - it's not giving them to you until it's ready to pay them out. For me it's always at .60/spin. I didn't know any of this until I got a marketing job at a local casino. Just go nuts and try to have fun instead of doubting! When you get slapped in the face during a bonus round it's trying to tilt you: find a new "machine" instead!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news on picking the right icon for a bonus round but it doesn't matter which one you choose, because it is all predetermined as glaughan mentioned. The RNG in that spin determines the outcome regardless what your pick is.

Knowing this takes away part of the fun of painstakingly choosing the right one. Not only is the amount of spins predetermined by the RNG so is the wins for the bonus round. I have seen this happen at bingo sites that have your total credits listed on the homepage. It will calculate your win before you even finish a bonus round.

Indeed taaadaa it sucks but i guess its so casinos dont loose too much money with lucky pickers, but its the same things with the freespins you get, before you even started on 1st spin its already done counting what you gonna win when the feature is over.

That is a very interesting and usefull info, i had no idea its like that. But i need to digress, what is the point of RNG and bonus itself if your clicking on anything makes no potential difference? Its actually  doesnt take part of the fun, it takes it all because if i understand well all those features are cosmetical in nature and can be compared in fun provided as if you lined up few symbols on reels (everything else would than be a cosmetical fake?). Its kinda really shocking to know that what you choose has no impact on the outcome, it really puts another perspective onto the slots (pretty numbing one if i may add Cheesy)

Well RNG's or not there are many people who just will not believe that it is that way... and even though I know it, I choose to act as if I don't...

And on that note, here is one for TAAADAAA to think about... and let me know what to pick next time! Laugh out Loud

In the RTG game Lion's Lair, when you get to the bonus round you have to choose what order to use the 2x, 3x, and 5x multipliers... each one for 4 spins... How do you pick which order to do these in?

I had several opportunities to try different orders on this today and could not wait to come to this thread and post my question! You can see a screenie of some of my results here:

Aww taaa i know it stinks but you still don't know what the outcome of the bonus round is so there is still an element of surprise.

The RNG is a powerful tool and it has it's benefits mainly for fairness of the game and prevent players from predicting the outcome. So instead they pick the outcome for us! It doesn't really lose all the fun because we don't know how much we are going to win. But the moment you click that spin button it is predetermined by the RNG right down to whether or not you hit the bonus round and what the payout will be.

See now you won't have to beat yourself up so bad! When you pick those icons and it's not good remember it's not your fault!

Ive always valued video slots more than classic one in online play simply because i thaught that all those features provide exponentialy more fun than simple mind numbing reel spining (and even there on classic slots in land based casinos you still had the ability to stop some reel, gamble a win or influence the outcome by certain degree). What is trickery in this particular case is that if i lets say want to gamble my 5 of kind win on reels, the only decision i need to make is wheather or not i want to gamble and than press the button, from that point onward its all cosmetics, so it basicaly undervalues the presence of everything except the gamble button which sucks heavily imo.

I feel like knowing that it's all predetermined takes the pressure off of me.

I usually avoid playing slots where you get a choice - I always pick the worst possible thing without fail!
I generally just prefer games with a set amount of free spins.

"Choosing" to believe that your choices are not predetermined doesn't make much sense if you know that they are. It doesn't matter what you pick, gonna be the same result. Thanks glaughnan and lipstick for laying it all out.
